We had stayed at the Caribou Lodge about 10 years ago and were happy to see that the quality we valued then continued to hold today. Comfortable rooms, quiet hallways, plenty of parking and close enough to town to walk to all shops and restaurants each night of our stay. We used the large hot tub on the first floor. Everything was clean and well… Read more

Caribou lodges we thank you. Your staff is so friendly and helpful getting around. Check in early no problem, and the room was beautifull. Good beds and spotless clean. We really enjoyed our time with you. The parking for the car was tight, but we were so glad that we could park under the hotel. We walked to town, we could have used the free bus… Read more

We stayed here for three nights as part of a Rocky Mountaineer package and I do not feel this hotel comes even close to competing with others at a similar price point. I would not stay here if booking on my own. There appeared to be many other nicer looking properties within downtown Banff. The charm of the lodge decor in the lobby ends there.… Read more

I would not stay here if booking on my own. There appeared to be many other nicer looking properties within downtown Banff. The charm of the lodge decor in the lobby ends there. The rooms are really outdated, dark and in desperate need of a an update, including air conditioning. The onsite Keg restaurant was handy for breakfast when you wanted to get an early start. The onsite amenities are somewhat of a joke however…my son couldn’t use the fitness room as the air conditioning was broke and the room was dangerously warm. The hotel needs to upgrade everything from its rooms to its facilities. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend. Read less

This hotel was booked for us as part of a package, I personally wouldn’t have chosen it. The rooms are a bit dated and there is no AC in the rooms. Our window opened out overlooking the front entrance (Banff Avenue) so was particularly noisy and didn’t provide any relief from the heat (there were . 4 sharing a room). There is some weird AC set up in the corridors and it’s blows freezing cold, it is also very noisy and keeps you up in the night (avoid rm 448!). Very odd. There is a fridge and coffee maker in the room which is useful. We didn’t eat breakfast here. We did eat dinner in The Keg restaurant on-site and that was very nice, staff lovely and food excellent quality. Complimentary coffee in reception for hotel guests in the morning is a nice touch. Didn’t use Red Earth Spa as the prices seemed rather expensive. The underground parking is a little bit too tight so we opted to park on the road down the side of the hotel. Read less

$600 A NIGHT AND NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOMS! 35 C in July, and when we complained to the hotel staff they gave us a fan to use. The hallways were excessively cool so in order to cool the room we left the door to the hallway propped open and set the fan up on a suitcase in the doorway. Ridiculous! Will never return.
