Fairmont Palliser first opened its doors to guests in 1914 as one of the Canadian Pacific Railroad Hotels. Today it’s one of Calgary’s landmark buildings, offering a superb range of amenities and luxury accommodation in the heart of downtown. Dining at the Rimrock is essential whilst here, an incredible Tudor-style restaurant with barrelled ceilings and massive stone fireplace. Don’t miss out on the hotel’s award-winning Sunday Brunch, served in the grand lobby and accompanied by live piano music – book early to avoid disappointment. For drinks and entertainment, there’s the Oak Room, a cosmopolitan meeting space, serving tapas and cocktails along with some very cool jazz. If you want to pamper yourself, RnR Wellness Spa offers the latest beauty treatments whilst the Boulevard Club features a eucalyptus steam room, 12-person spa and an indoor heated swimming pool.

Always great!

This is an old hotel, perfectly located, but it is the staff who really make the Palliser great. Everyone is welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. I had a regular room - so it's small - including the bathroom - but it was absolutely perfect for me travelling by myself. and if I need more space, there are larger rooms - and the Gold Floor.
Glorious Luxury Experience With Wonderful Service

This property was really hard to fault. It's beautiful and the service is good. It's like night at day compared to the property on Lake Louise where you pay a fortune and the service is pretty hit and miss. The service here is consistently good.

The gold lounge access was lovely. The staff are very helpful and I enjoyed the food options. The only thing I would suggest, and this is nitpicking a bit, is that if you have foods with vinaigrette, salad dressing etc that you consider allowing the guests to serve their own desired amount of dressing onto the dish on their plate.
The room was conducive to relaxing and doing some work. The bed was incredibly comfortable and combined with no noise from other guests, the sleep quality was wonderful.
My only substantive issue of the stay was at the spa which I acknowledge is independently owned from the hotel but given their interconnection, I feel it's appropriate to mention it as part of my review. I had two spa treatments, a wonderful facial one night and then the second night I checked in for my massage at the spa reception and was led to a seating area after declining to undress into a robe. Around 6 or 7 minutes after the massage was supposed to start, a therapist asked my name and she said oh I didn't realize you were here, you weren't showing as being checked in. Not to worry, I wasn't doing anything else that night so I happily went off for my massage. Now I do understand that if I was the one who was late, there is no expectation that the time would have been made up. However, I was very surprised and disappointed that the therapist didn't make up the time I had been deprived through the spa's own communication difficulties, not because I had done anything wrong.
Upon check out I found the front desk supervisor to be a very gracious woman.
Highly recommended property and I'm so pleased with my stay overall.

Date night at Fairmont

Manav was very helpful and friendly during our with our check in. We stayed for a date night and dinner at the restaurant. Manav made sure to give us a great room for our evening. The dinner was delicious and they sat us in front of the beautiful fireplace. It was a wonderful date night

This is a nice hotel overall but I little lacking . We booked the Gold floor , although no notices as you enter so you know to go up the penthouse to check in.
Check in was a bit weird . Showed us the lounge , I mentioned we were visiting friends for thanks giving and the response was ‘let us know if they use the line as there will be charge ‘ .…

Check in was a bit weird . Showed us the lounge , I mentioned we were visiting friends for thanks giving and the response was ‘let us know if they use the line as there will be charge ‘ . We had no attention of bringing anyone to the lounge . Who would do that ? Very odd.
Room was ok , no drawers and very limited hanging space
The gold service team didn’t offer to help with anything , or tell us what they could help with , it’s really just lounge access I think .
I found the experience a little cold
