When we arrived to Montreal on July 5th at 4:35 pm, we expected to check in to our room immediately. However, the man at the service deck informed us that there was a delay or incident— our room would be ready in 30 minutes. Mind you, we had two small children who were exhausted and cranky from the long trip running around. After 30 minutes have passed, my husband went back to the front dest to inquire about our room, the employee informed it’s that, our room were still being cleaned. We were disappointed and upset and knew that we were being lied to. We went to the food court and cane after about 30 minutes, the room was “still being cleaned.” This time around, the service desk employee barely spoke to us and ran to his manager. He ignored us and immediately began talking to another client. Another employee took over to address our issue— she informed us that her manager will take care of the matter. The manager offered us free breakfast while telling us that the room will take another 30 minutes to be cleaned and ready. We were very disappointed with the service. I would have given it 1 star if I could. But, The employee named Mayra tried to calm down our kids by giving them crayons and a coloring book. Read less

Hotel is ideally located. Step out the door and we’re in Festival Headquarters. Lots of indoor parking, very clean rooms and the quietest hotel I’ve ever stayed. We were never disturbed by noise in any of the nights there. We will return next year

During my stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Montreal, I found the overall hotel experience to be quite pleasant. However, the breakfast service fell short of expectations. As someone with Celiac disease, I require a gluten-free diet. Despite my prior communication with the hotel, in which I was assured gluten-free bread would be available and additional options could be provided upon request, my emails to both the executive chef and breakfast coordinator went unanswered upon arrival. In my travels both domestically and internationally, I have encountered more comprehensive gluten-free offerings at a Home2Suites by Hilton in Idaho Falls, which charged less for a six-night stay than this hotel. Montreal is home to several gluten-free bakeries within walking distance, providing some of the best gluten-free croissants and bread I have ever tasted. Unfortunately, the gluten-free bread provided at the hotel was of notably poor quality, even compared to the most basic options available in US grocery stores. While I appreciate the ambiance and amenities of this hotel, as a long-time Diamond member, I expected a higher standard of service, particularly regarding dietary accommodations. For those who require gluten-free options, I would advise against spending extra on this hotel with the expectation of a wide variety of gluten-free choices, as you may be disappointed. Read less
