Virgin rating

The hotel

If you’re wanting to get the best up-close experience of Niagara Falls, then that’s exactly what the Marriott on the Falls will give you. When we say close-up, this is the nearest place to stay to those three famed Falls — Horseshoe, American and Bridal Veil. If you want to get even closer, you’re in the perfect spot to head out on a boat on the waters. But you don’t have to if you don’t want to, as the hotel has an observation deck, a restaurant where you can eat and admire the views, and rooms where you can open the curtains each morning to the sight of the spectacular rushing waters.

We stayed here for 3 days for a conference we were attending. We had a city view room on the 7th floor. The room was big with two queen beds, a couch and chair. The bathroom was nice but did have a problem with the hot water. Once the shower got going you could not get it cooler and was so hot you could hardly take a shower. My wife let them know when we checked out and they said they were having issues with the water. The hot tub was nice but the timer on the jets were broke tax we could not get the jets to turn on. We have a drink in the lobby bar with the other people at the conference. I can’t justify paying 14 bucks for a beer plus tax plus the resort fee on top of that. Insane to me they can charge that price. Had the breakfast Buffett and it was very good with lots of choices. We parked at another cheap hotel down the road for $ 25 bucks as over $40 bucks a night for parking is crazy. Read less

Paying for a Premium room on the 24th Floor...The view Gorgeous!!! But no microwave, 40 cable channels,$25 movie rentals, really mini fridge. I expected more for paying a premium price plus $45 per night parking. C'mon now! MARRIOT REALLY!!!

Very disappointing. They turned the water off on Wednesday evening without notice. I happened to be in the shower. Then only got hot water through all taps for the rest of the stay. TV remote didn’t work. Coffee maker didn’t work properly. No safes in the room but you can store items in the safe in the office if you want to stand in line every… Read more

TV remote didn’t work. Coffee maker didn’t work properly. No safes in the room but you can store items in the safe in the office if you want to stand in line every time you need something. The elevators were not all working so after 5 full elevators came and went I gave up and walked down 12 flights. I had a late check out which the front desk gave me a hard time about when I was only asking for 30 minutes. When I went to my room at noon to leave it was already locked. Housekeeping had to call down to the desk to get permission to let me in. Then I stood in the hallway for 10 minutes because they forgot about me. There was rust in the tub and mould on the shower curtain and outside the tub. The concrete steps on the back of the hotel are not to code and I fell down them on my second day there. Unfortunately they did not send a survey following my stay so I have to do this here. Read less

We were 3 in the family and I booked the hotel from the Indian portal Ease My Trip. Niagara view room was pretty expensive and the hotel policy offered breakfast for only 2 persons. The parking charges are also very very steep - even though you are a hotel guest (CAD 45/night). We stayed in room no. 1005 - 10th floor, lovely view of the falls. The key card given to us was having someone else's name written on it. The room phone belonged to some other room no., as the room number mentioned on it was of some other room. None of the speed dials worked on the phone and it was with some effort, that we discovered that only key no. 'ZERO' worked. Room service was slow but it delivered what was asked. Another big problem is that none of the personal use items are available at the bathroom - except towels, one soap and fixed Bath and hair shampoos. The Dental kit had one of the worst - small - toothbrushes that have useless bristles. The shaving cream sachets did not have any cream in them!!! The razor given was another bad product. The vegetarian breakfast had beans on toast and some really bad roasted vegetable (nothing was seen in the receptacle for a long period of time). That's all. If it wouldn't have been for the view, we would not have stayed at this hotel. Positives: Awesome Location and view. Nice, helpful employees. Negatives: Uncomfortable beds (seems they have outlived their tenure), Very, very limited Vegetarian breakfast items, Dental and Shaving kits were sub standard and un-useful. Shaving cream was missing in all the 4 packs that was sent. Interesting: The chance encounter with the Travel desk guy Terry M., helped in our Niagara town visit. Overall Review: Niagara view Awesome, Hotel stay Average, not worth what is being charged. Read less

Beautiful hotel, clean, great location. I paid a lot $ to get the Queen “Superior Fallsview Guestroom High Floor” Floors 25-31. What I got was floor 24 that sits right on some type of building balcony or siding, a mess. No view without standing up and looking over/beyond the building. VERY disappointed. What I got was floor 24 that sits right on some type of building balcony or siding, a mess. No view without standing up and looking over/beyond the building. VERY disappointed. When I checked in they “upgraded” to a family room. I guess they thought since the view was better in the king room that it was ok. Read less
