On arrival there were no boiling water facilities to make my babies bottle so I had to ask reception for a kettle. Room was clean and comfortable but couldn’t swing a cat (and we paid for a big room). We had 2 large cases and a pushchair and there was nowhere to put the cases or unpack the luggage which was stressful. Room was also inappropriate for young children who are walking as there was a ginormous wooden frame around the television which caused a lot of head injuries. Location was great. And the hotel has a wonderful indoor swimming pool. Stay was okay but wouldn’t stay here again with young children. Read less

I will start by saying I was pleasantly surprised by the Holiday Inn, and will definitely stay there again when I am in Toronto. I will start by saying I was pleasantly surprised by the Holiday Inn, and will definitely stay there again when I am in Toronto. Truth be told, I have not stayed at a Holiday Inn in decades, and my perception was that it was a low-end hotel, and filled with budget-conscious families and screaming children. Well, it was not. The hotel was on par with others that I have stayed at - it was modern, clean, and well run. Most of the people that I saw checking in and checking out were couples on vacation and lots of airline pilots and flight attendants. Likes: - The hotel was very clean (cleanest I have seen this past few years). Kudos to the cleaning staff! - All of the staff that we talked to were very pleasant. - We were there during a heat wave, and noticed that the hallways and lobby were uncomfortably hot. At first we were feared that there was no air-conditioning; however, one of the staff informed us that they were directing more of the cooling power to the guest rooms so that rooms would be cooler. it turns out our room was very comfortable and nice and cool. Kudos to the staff for thinking of this. - The parking was half the price of other hotels $40/day vs $80 (however; be warned, the parking garage is very small - Maximum vehicle height is 5’7”. Our Honda CRV was fine, but there is no way bigger SUVs or pick up trucks would fit.). - The hotel was central to all of the attractions we wanted to see, and the price was quite reasonable compared to others. - I liked the fact that you must swipe your key card in the elevator to get to your room as it adds an additional layer of security. - The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were amazing! There was a selection of firm and soft pillows. My travel mate is a bit of a “pillow princess” and always brings her pillows from home; however even she found the pillows so comfortable that she did not even use the pillows she brought! Dislikes - The bathroom was very small, with little counter room for our toiletries. It was difficult to manœuvre in there to get ready in the morning. - There were no towel racks or hooks in the bathroom. There was one hook behind the door used to hang the hair dryer and one broken hook on the wall that did not have any “hooks” on it so the towel fell off. There would have been space to have a small towel rack above the toilet but instead there was a picture. I would highly recommend that they install some hooks and shelving. Neither good nor bad but worth noting: - The room was very small. Here was about 2’ between the two beds and less than 1’ to walk past the end of the bed (the closet was in front of the foot of the bed). We were only two people in the room so it wasn’t bad but I can’t imagine a family with kids in the room. - In the parking garage, the ramp has you driving on the left-hand side going down and conversely, on the left-hand side coming up. It is not intuitive to be driving on the left. Given how tight the garage is, you really need to be careful and watch the mirrors in the corner to make sure that no one is coming. - We did not eat at the restaurant or buffet breakfast so I cannot comment on that. When I am in Toronto, I always go to Fran’s (old fashioned diner) for breakfast - it is just a block away, and has a great breakfast. Read less

Despite reaching out to the board of directors and waiting over a month, I have yet to receive my deposit refund. This level of service is unacceptable and has marred what could have been a pleasant stay.I would not recommend anyone to stay in HolidayInn Downtown Centre hotel ever and I will never be returning due to this. I asked questions to the front desk staff during my stay and they were very unhelpful and dismissive.Overall a very disappointing experience . Read less

We stayed 1 night, when we checked our credit card later on we found it had been debited approx $230.00 CAD $270.63 AUD. Our accomodation was pre paid and we didn't dine there. We have been trying to find out what this charge was for, because of time differance ( 14 hours ) we have sent several emails to them and they won't reply.

2nd time at this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms with a very good walk-in shower. Complimentary Tea, coffee and water available in the rooms. Good A/C. Suitable breakfast. The only thing that drops it down a star was that the fire alarm wasn't all that audible when it went off at about 3.00am. False alarm by the way. All in… Read more
