My husband and I visited Paradise Island, The Bahamas, from 6/25 through 6/29/2024. We made a very conscientious decision to stay at Comfort Suites once again. We’ve been going to the Bahamas for 50 years, and we have almost always stayed at the Comfort Suites. When our family was young, cost was always the determining factor of where we stayed. This time it was about convenience, lack of crowding, friendly staff. When we stay here, a simple wrist band allows us to head to the Atlantis and enjoy all the activities, marine life, and beach. When we headed to the Atlantis this trip, we were overwhelmed by the crowded lines for meals, people trying to check in, others wandering aimlessly in their effort to try to get to their destination. I rented an electric scooter to get around, but it was very difficult to move through the crowded Atlantis. Also, it was frustrating to try to get to the beach in an electric scooter, because a couple of elevators were broken and not repaired during our stay, as were a couple of women’s bathrooms. We were so happy that once again we decided to stay at the Comfort Suites. In our effort not to stand in a wait line for food at the Atlantis, we ate at Anthony’s for dinner two evenings. Each morning we enjoyed the breakfast at Comfort Suites. Daily breakfast is provided as part of the stay at the Comfort Suites. It’s a good deal: good coffee, fresh fruit (watermelon, cantaloupe or honey dew melon, sometimes skewered fruit pieces). Always fresh scrambled eggs. Usually two choices of a meat. Cereals, OJ, milk, white or wheat bread that you toast, some pastries. All the food is offered in warming trays, so you help yourself. Trust me when I say that it’s a good deal in the Bahamas! But here was the big winner for us: I wasn’t able to get a lobster meal during my stay, until my husband spoke with workers in the dining area of the Comfort Suites. My husband asked if lobster would be offered for the evening’s choices. We happened to be speaking to the head of Food Services (Shauna, I believe). She promptly asked when I would like to have lobster, because she would make sure it was available for me! Then she brought the chef to meet me and take my personal order. Lucy, the chef, was wonderful too! Lucy asked how I would like my lobster prepared and what sides I would like to enjoy with my meal. Then she asked me the approximate time I would like to be seated. We arranged that I would return the next evening between 5:30-6:00 pm to enjoy a lobster meal. Kudos also to a male employee who was part of the group to make sure that lobster would be available for me the next evening. I don’t recall his name, but he also took time to recognize me and say hello when I was seated for my meal. He was busy making sure that the outside dining area was pristine in appearance. And true to their word, I was seated and enjoyed my perfect meal. Shauna recognized me and spoke to me for a couple of minutes. I thanked her again for helping to make my perfect meal happen, and she offered that the Comfort Suites dining room will always try to accommodate, when given enough time to purchase the particular fresh food! Another plus of dinner dining at Comfort Suites: A choice to dine inside or outside, all with white table linens and sparkling glassware, as well as super cocktails! Also, tables are not located right on top of each other. We will return to the Comfort Suites, possibly in September. We will enjoy our included daily morning breakfast and then get our wrist band to enjoy what the Atlantis offers, including a pristine tropical beach. But the Comfort Suites does not have: overcrowding, a noisy pool, broken lounge chairs around the pool, long waits in line, overpricing for rooms (we checked). I do want to point out that the Comfort Suites rooms need some updating. Workers were actively painting the hallways while we were there. Employees were constantly cleaning up. However, the suites need some upgrading. That is why I gave a four star rating rather than a five star rating. Read less

The room was quiet, clean, and it worked for 3 family members including my elderly dad. We appreciated the wheelchair accessible routes throughout the hotel. That enabled my dad to also participate in the pool and complementary breakfast buffet. Staff were very welcoming. I’d come back here.

Arrived at the Comfort Suites on a Friday, set to leave on the following Thursday. The check-in process was relatively smooth, but access to the elevator was an ordeal. We walked virtually the entire hotel to get to the elevator, get upstairs, and then another trek all the way back to the other side of the building. If you have bags, prepare to haul them upstairs yourself or get an unexpected work-out dragging your bags the length of the hotel to the elevator. The hotel is, unfortunately, severely overpriced. The decor is old and dated, the rooms are small; the beds were not only small but uncomfortable, and the internet was spotty. The room had a rickety refrigerator that didn't get very cold, and there was no microwave, so there was no way to warm anything that we bought. Huge drawback for a "suite". Also be prepared for the water pressure in the bathroom. It was very low, making the shower experience underwhelming. The property was clean and the staff (except for certain conspicuous personnel at the front desk) was generally quite friendly. The entire family - four of us, two adults and two children - was there for a getaway and we did our best to explore the island and get over to Atlantis a few times. The hotel has an arrangement with Atlantis that allows guests to go onto the Atlantis property. That was a big attraction for the kids, who were excited about seeing the aquarium and the kids area. The experience did not disappoint as the aquarium and the rest of the Atlantis property were fantastic. The hotel does include a decent breakfast of fruit, yogurt, waffles, toast, etc., and considering the price of food on Paradise Island it is worth your time to take advantage of the daily breakfast. The hotel is only a short walk to the beach and to Viola's restaurant, which was one of the few places on Paradise Island that had good offerings for a family with children. The hotel is also close to the stunning Versailles Gardens, which we hadn't realized was part of the Ocean Club resort. We were only there a few minutes before the resort security ran over to shoo us off the property, but the Gardens are a lovely sight nonetheless. We were able to take the taxi to the downtown area for about $20 US so that wasn't a bad experience. There's not much to do downtown except see a new cruise port and dodge pushy street vendors. We walked a little further to get to the fish fry, which was quite an experience. I don't think I've ever been served so much food at one time in my life. The order for one person alone would have been more than enough to feed our entire family. The food was excellent, and it was also cheaper than the options available on Paradise Island, so we recommend the fish fry! (Of course, not having a microwave in the room prevented us from enjoying that food later on) As I mentioned the internet at the hotel was generally poor and the charging stations in the room simply did not work. We asked the staff to come and take a look and were first accused of having faulty chargers....the same chargers that worked everywhere EXCEPT their hotel, but nevermind. Their "tech" guy came in, scrunched his nose at our chargers and at the charging stations and quickly announced that everything was working "just fine". So, we were told that our chargers - the same ones that worked in the US, at the airport, and on the airplane - suddenly stopped working once we got to Comfort Suites. Shockingly, those same chargers began working again as soon as we left their property, so the chargers were never the problem. Anyway, to get around the faulty charging stations we had to connect the phones overnight to ports on the tv so they could charge enough for the next day. The only issue there was that the tv had to be on so we were forced to endure the ambient light from the tv all night just to charge our phones. It was worth it though. Imagine spending a week in the Bahamas but not taking any phones because you can't charge your phone! The property is supposed to be comparable to a Hampton Inn or Residence Inn in the US, except without the microwave or working charging stations, and at twice the price! The best part of the stay was the access to the Atlantis and the daily breakfast, which made Comfort Suites a better deal. But overall, for a decent family room Comfort Suites was not good value for money. Read less

I would have adjusted with everything in the hotel from noisy ac, stained pillows to old musty rooms, but they denied giving me a room credit though it was mentioned in the vacation package by saying restrictions apply. This is definitely not a 3 star hotel. Please be careful and don’t believe everything the website says while booking.

Absolutely amazing hotel when we entered, we were immediately greeted with smiles and kindness from the front desk staff. It was a breath of fresh air to have so kind persons in customer service as it was not the same when we arrived at the airport. The room was beautiful they had fruits drinks and refreshments in our room, a baby crib set up for our daughter and the food was everything you’d want and more from Bahamian cuisines to international food choices. We went at a Pretty wet time and staying on the hotel grounds instead of leaving still made everything so fun and still felt like vacation! Highly recommend!! Baby friendly very accommodating and the service impeccable! Thank you Comfort suites family for an amazing stay! Until next time!! Read less
