Coconut Court Beach Hotel

Barbados, Caribbean

Virgin rating

The hotel

About as ‘seaside’ as you can get, the Blades family have called this sand-hugging spot home for more than four decades. And they chose a pretty perfect beach for their hotel — which is probably why hundreds of Hawksbill marine turtles call it home too. As you’re here for the beach, the Blades have made sure you’re never far from it, whether you’re lazing on the free loungers, watching moonlight movies on the sands, soaking in the seafront pool and whirlpool, sipping frozen cocktails at the beach bar, or lingering over candlelit suppers at Coco's. The beach itself is lined with beautiful trees to provide natural shelter from the Caribbean rays, so those that don't wish to worship the sun need not worry. It’s not just by the beach though — it’s also steps from South Coast Boardwalk which links you to an array of shops, restaurants and Rockley Beach. The hotel also features an open air restaurant overlooking the white sand beach. Above all else, do not forget to savour a Pirate Punch during one of the several 'happy hours' each day — a traditional Blades family recipe with a twist!

This is a lovely, friendly, and clean hotel. Our room was big and spacious and kept clean and tidy each day. The air con worked a treat which was needed in the heat. Beach and sea are very picturesque, like a picture postcard. There are lots of sunbeds....and lots if shade if required. Just 2/3 steps to Captain Charlie's beach bar for a rum punch… Read more
This is a lovely, friendly, and clean hotel. Our room was big and spacious and kept clean and tidy each day. The air con worked a treat which was needed in the heat. Beach and sea are very picturesque, like a picture postcard. There are lots of sunbeds....and lots if shade if required. Just 2/3 steps to Captain Charlie's beach bar for a rum punch or two! The pool area is kept clean and tidy, not a huge pool, but enough to cool you down on a hot day. There are lovely bushes around the pooldeck with tiny little hummingbirds flitting from flower to flower all the time. The food is very tasty with good-sized portions. Entertainment was on most nights ...weather permitting....there were a few heavy nights of rain, which, of course, is totally out with anyone's control! The staff were always quick to put out towels and cone at the wet public walkways....always on the ball! The bar staff and wait staff are all terrific! Very friendly, polite but jokey, and always remembered your name....and what you liked to drink....Victoria, Nia, Kevin, Kinesha, Amanda, Kerli and of course Samara...who I hope has a safe delivery of her baby boy! Hope I've got those names right! No question was silly and always answered in full by any staff member you spoke to. Management and owners are always visible and love to chat with guests, many of them returning for the nth time! A good insight as to what this little place means to everyone! Only one tiny letdown ... there are a good few steps down from rooms and from main reception to bars and dining room, pool and beach. It's not a huge problem, but for me, with my dodgy knees, it became a bit of a challenge at times, lol! To be honest, with how the hotel is laid out , I don't know what the answer to this one is. However, it is still a lovely place in a beautiful setting....has given us lots of memories 🌞 Read less

We’ve been to CCBH numerous times now and have had accommodations on both the water side and land side. This lovely hotel, and lovely island, feel like home to us. The staff at CCBH are ALL wonderful and are the main reason we return every year. A special thank you to Hadfield, Ian, Jacqueline, Barbara, Kynesha, Samara. Until next year……

We have just returned from a wonderful two weeks honeymoon in Barbados. We had such a magical time and made memories that will last a lifetime! We did find a few niggles with the hotel, however it doesn’t seem necessary to air them on a public forum. Most were sorted out with the staff during our stay and any others we will put down to experience. On the whole, our experience here was fabulous. We would definitely recommend this hotel, if only for the idyllic views - especially from our room “Island in the Sun”! Thank you for having us and perhaps one day we will meet again x Read less

The staff, well the staff were the best yet, so friendly and helpful, we didn’t get everyone’s names but Samara, Kevin, Nya and Andre to name but a few were wonderful, so friendly and helpful, always spoke and remembered our names. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, it’s in a good spot as well not too far from bars and restaurants. We would stay again next time in Barbados Read less

Booked for a trip in November 2024 - this would have been our THIRD time staying at the hotel, with plans to continue to holiday here in the future. Booked direct with hotel and chose the non refundable room rate (wrongly thinking if we had to cancel our travel insurance would cover it!) Sadly our dog has become poorly and we cannot leave him to go on our trip, contacted the hotel and said we understand it cannot be refunded is there any way it could be put on hold for a future date.....got a straight forward NO.....wasn't given any other option, we would have been willing to pay to change dates, would have accepted a shorter trip (booked for 14 days costing $3723) but wasn't given any other option. They didn't even advise that I could change the name to someone else, I had to go back and ask if that was possible. We gifted the trip to a family member so that it wouldn't go to waste. This experience means that although we are very fond of the hotel and the location we would never consider holidaying here again! P.S. I booked a family hotel locally for the weekend we should have been travelling to Barbados (too soften the blow of missing out on our trip), we couldn't make that trip as the dog was unwell, we called the hotel (after check in time on day of arrival) as a courtesy to let them know we wouldn't be arriving....was pleasantly surprised when they said they couldn't refund but could re -book.....now that is Customer Service!
