The hotel

Oozing island charm, this bijou beauty has just 79 rooms but packs in plenty of reasons as to why it deserves a visit. Inspired by its stunning waterfront location, just a stroll from the heart of St Lawrence Gap with its great bars, restaurants and nightlife, Rostrevor Apartment Hotel features just enough turquoise touches to remind you the ocean’s right outside — in fact, every guest room looks out over it. If you want to get even closer, the swimming pool sits a few mere metres from the ocean, on a bluff-like perch that creates absorbing views as you swim and sunbathe. An equally alluring sunbathing spot, the secluded sands of Rostrevor Beach fringe the hotel. The pool’s paired with one of the hotel’s two eateries, the Almond Tree Pool Bar, so you can dine in casual comfort during the day, before heading to the other restaurant, The Harlequin, for International food with Caribbean flair for a delicious evening meal.

The location in the gap was very convenient for beaches and restaurants both near and good for getting the bus to other locations further away. The pool area was good but as usual you have to be up early to get a sun lounger. Overall for the price I felt the rostrevor was great and I have rebooked for next year. Read less

I thought this hotel was lovely. A great sea view from the rooms, efficient service from the staff and we found Verma at the bar to be lovely - very sweet with our 14 Yr old. Nice that there are cooking facilities in the room if you don't want to eat out.

I had a poolside self catering room at The Rostrevor for 2 weeks. The hotel location was great, the room was everything you need and was clean however it was in front of the kitchen for the bar and staff noise started up at 5am each morning with loud singing, whistling, slamming of the back door and various other noise which isnt ideal when you`re on a break and hoping to relax and recharge. To be fair after I mentioned this the noise was toned down. I could only hear the music from the karaoke bar across the road from the hotel a little bit and it really wasnt anything to complain about. I hardly noticed it. The hotel pool bar wasnt open late so that didnt cause any disturbance. The woman working behind the bar I found to be very rude. Verma. When I asked if bar food was still available at 1pm one of the days she glared at me, raised her wrist and had a long pointed look at her wrist watch, glared back at me again and grumbled loudly that she was trying to get closed!! Unbelieveably rude!! Then she went on to take a food order from somebody else after me so why I copped for her bad attitude I have no idea. When I mentioned it on the internet it seems that Verma has quite a fan club, nobody was prepared to believe that Verma was anything but wonderful. Well my experience was very different and I made sure I spent no money whatsoever in the hotel for the rest of my stay. I dined in the surrounding bars everyday. The room maids were lovely as were the reception staff and porters. And it was lovely having a room right next to the pool and sea front. There are signs up saying that if towels are left on the loungers unattended they will be removed but in reality that didnt happen. I witnessed people out at 6.30am claiming sun loungers and spreading towels on them and some of those people then didnt appear until lunchtime to use them. It selfishly stopped others using the beds and the hotel does nothing about it. Would I stay here again? Yes, it`s a great location, clean and a good base for going out and about on the south coast. I just returned from this hotel in the GAP Barbados. We stayed as a couple in a suite. I found the hotel good value for money. It has a good location, friendly staff and nice decor. Although, the kitchenette was a bit old-fashioned the rest of the apartment was modern with nice furniture. Unfortunately, we could not swim in the small cove in front of the hotel because of the Sargassum. It is not far from Dover Beach or Carlisle Bay so we took a few trips to better beaches. I enjoyed the happy hours and found that although the bar closed early there is lots to do nearby. I had some good meals at nearby Harliquins, Primo and Crave. It had a nice pool area which is due for refurb soon. So although it is a bit rough around the edges I recommend it as a good 3-star in the area it is in. Probably better for couples than families but it got my vote! Read less

Beautiful clean hotel , room was dated but very clean. The staff are very polite and helpful. We only stayed 2 days due to mix up with the previous hotel and dates Ideal location if you want to be in the gap. Parking is available for hired cars There is a pool bar on site and serves lunches which are reasonably priced and look delicious.
