We revisited the hotel mid August and we can say that we will not be back. The standards of this hotel has significantly dropped. I will start with the reception and the welcome. Marsha and the team did not give us a good welcome. This was our 5th stay at the Savannah Hotel, previously we had always been welcomed and recognized as return guests. Nobody on the reception desk on arrival knew that we were repeat guests eventually a girl checked us in, mixed up our name and gave us the wrong type of room. The rest of the staff at the reception was very rude and indifferent the service was poor and the welcome very deplorable. When we were checking in the staff were talking amongst themselves about the lunch that day and how awful it tasted. This set the tone for the type of stay that we had. After we checkin we then ask to speak to the front desk manager. On asking to talk to the manager we were told there was none! We were told the supervisor is Marsha, who was one in the bustling disorganised and indifferent staff who was at reception for our check-in we opted not to speak with her as the level of unprofessionalism is unparallelled. We wondered why every time we visit we often see different faces at the reception. This has been by a wide margin the worst check in we ever experienced in all the years we travelled. We visited back in November 2022 and March 2023 and before Covid and we received a stellar Welcomes and had a fab experience. Back them we were met with charming smiles (I cannot remember the young ladies’ names but they were top quality at the front desk). When we arrived this time, we felt as we were inconveniencing the staff by checking in as the wanted to get back to the conversation amongst themselves. My husband and I went to reception to have our key for the door redone for our room it was not opening the door of our room, when we got there the receptionist on duty was sleeping behind the computer we called several times she did not hear us, she seems to have been in a deep sleep we then had security open the room for us. With the exception of possibly 10%, I have never encountered a staff (hotel, restaurant or otherwise) that is generally so unpleasant. I have travelled extensively and could count on one hand the times a staff member treated a request as burdensome - until now. The staff at this "resort" even seem burdened by a request for coffee - at times you receive no acknowledgment of your ask. There are too many instances to list, but know that this attitude is pervasive through the entire property. We booked the all- Inclusive and we can say that has been lacking during our stay, there was no variety and the breakfast was the same every day, it was grim and the staff were surly and clearly not wanting to be there. One morning two members of staff were having a disagreement right behind us and on another occasion we had a chipped cup served to us without any hesitation which was not particularly hygienic. We saw it straight away so I don't know how the server didn't see it. The choice of hot food was not always hot even though we were there for the first sitting starting at 7.30am. The cold buffet was nothing special. There were some tiny weird tasting croissants and some pastries and as for fruit there was a bowl of cut up melon cubes and a bowl of grapes. There were also some well ripe bananas. That was it! We had a lunch by Drifters. Food took a long time to come but it was average when it came. Staff were a little more friendly there. We ate from this buffet the first night, but due to the lack of quality had dinner off property most nights during our stay. Overall the room was clean but housekeeping was a bit hit and miss. One day when we had been out all day and returned at 3,30 the room hadn't been cleaned. We left to go out again at 5 and the room still hadn't been done so I found someone cleaning in another room on our landing and it was done by the time we got back after dinner. There was sand on the floor the first afternoon that never got swept up and was still there when we left. Overall the place has an unfriendly unwelcoming atmosphere. Not sure what is happening there but we won't be going back. The staff were VERY VERY unfriendly and surly. Read less

We stayed at the Savannah for a week in August. Having visited other Caribbean islands at this time of year before, we were interested to see how the hospitality, climate and island would compare, and we were not disappointed. Whilst not high season, the weather was great, a couple of mornings were slightly overcast although it soon cleared and we had a couple of brief showers but other than that the temperature was around the low to mid 30’s with humidity making it feel around 40. On arrival we were met by the bellboy, who offered us a run or fruit punch, whilst we were checking in, and then whilst leading us to our room, gave us a brief lowdown of the hotel. The hotel itself isn’t large, but this gave it a very friendly feel. The staff were always willing to help and would engage in conversation or greet you when they walked past you. Our room was a double double with direct pool access, which meant we had to walk about 2 paces off our patio and you were in the lazy river that meandered around. The room itself was well appointed, clean and was very well tended to by housekeeping. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. We knew this before arriving, so it wasn’t an issue but it would have been nice if the room could have had 1 double and twins, rather than second double, as some children may be would a little more comfortable with that, that said it wasn’t an issue for us ( boy and girl aged 13 & 16) The hotel has 3 restaurants, we ate at all and enjoyed the food in all. Breakfast are served in Rachael’s, and are a buffet, with fresh fruit, cereals, omelettes, pancakes, cheeses and cooked options all available . The beach restaurant, Drifters, hosted lunch most days, and is a buffet. The evening meal needs booking, and this is done at breakfast or via reception. Chopstix ( noodle restaurant) is open twice a week and Rachel’s is also open twice a week for an a la carte meal and I was also open for a Caribbean night as well. Occasionally there was entertainment with the meal in the form of singers, music and we also had limbo dancing and fire eating at Driftrs one evening. Afternoon tea was available if you wished to participate and drinks/cocktails were always available from either Drifters bar or the pool swim up bar. There is a room with pool tables, table tennis, darts etc which kept our kids happy for a while. We booked one excursion which was arranged for us by the on-site team. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone, and we had. a great time, and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back again. Read less

Just came back from Savanah beach club 11-15 Aug 2024 with my wife. Celebrated my birthday there and a belated anniversary. Teresa at front desk went above and beyond to make our stay special and the head chef is cool and friendly guy. Lovely pool area.
