Great stay, second time we have visited and just as good as before. Spa services were incredible and Kwesi was the best entertainer ever! Hurricane Beryl stopped no one at the resort and the staff were incredibly helpful and informative throughout the whole thing.

We recently stayed at Grand Palladium Jamaica from June 28, 2024, to July 7, 2024, and unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected. Our vacation was intended to be a joyful family trip, but it turned out to be quite the opposite due to several significant issues. Room and Facility Conditions: - Upon arrival, our request for connected rooms (as we are a family of six, including two under 5, a 10-year-old, and a 14-year-old) was not honored. They initially blamed this on our booking through an agent, but we had called the hotel days prior to ensure our request and spoke with guest relations. Instead, we were given rooms around the corner from each other, which was highly inconvenient. My husband went back to request this be fixed, and they then gave us the connecting rooms. At check-in, we had asked for the connecting rooms again and were told they had none available. When we went back and told them the initial rooms were not acceptable, they told us we would have to pay an additional $600. We gladly paid with no hesitation for our family to be comfortable. When we switched rooms, we were beyond disappointed with their condition: - The rooms were dirty, with construction dust on the furniture and floors, and even broken glass in one of the rooms. Despite our complaints, no one was sent to rectify this until hours later. Even at 11 PM, our rooms were still dirty, prompting us to ask for a manager. - The phone in our room didn’t work throughout our stay, and the TV stopped working during the last two days. Additionally, one of our room’s door locks malfunctioned, taking two days to fix. - A foul smell, likely from a guest urinating in the stairwell of our building (Building 28), wasn’t addressed until the following evening. The quality of the bed sheets was poor, appearing very old and overused. Staff Attitude and Service: - Many of the staff members we encountered were rude and indifferent, showing little interest in ensuring guest satisfaction. - At the water sports area, staff were unhelpful, and I had to assist my toddlers with life vests and kayaks myself. - There was a persistent shortage of cups and towels at the pool bars and beachside, causing long waits for these basic amenities. The buffet food lacked variety and was often poorly restocked, with long waits for food and drinks. Management Response: - Despite our efforts to address these issues with management, particularly Mr. Devon Lindsay, the response was dismissive. Mr. Lindsay was rude and disrespectful. From my observation, black guests' complaints were dealt with differently compared to when white guests complained. Even after providing evidence through photos and videos, our concerns were not adequately addressed. - We only felt reassured after being approached by representatives of the travel club, but without their intervention, many of our issues would have likely remained unresolved. Overall, the experience was deeply disappointing, and we felt that the service and conditions at Grand Palladium Jamaica were not up to the standard we expected. I reached out to Grand Palladium to report all the above issues. They offered us a USD $600 refund, but they wanted me to sign a disclaimer to not share our negative experiences. As a multimillion-dollar company, they should have tried to rectify our issues when we were there, not after several emails. We urge Grand Palladium to improve its staff training, facility maintenance, and guest services to prevent future guests from facing similar issues. Until significant improvements are made, we would not recommend this resort to others. This was our experience. Read less
