Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Virgin rating

The hotel

Lying on a beautiful, long stretch of private beach, the Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa sits within 400 lush acres and is home to an 18th-century sugar plantation. A popular feature here is the iconic swimming pool but guests (kids' especially) also love the Sugar Mill Falls Waterpark, which is the largest in Jamaica. Why not grab a tube and float down the ‘lazy river’ or try one of the slides. There’s also a daily kids' club, leaving you with time to recharge in the full-service spa, or why not try out the Championship golf course. A variety of restaurant options with fine dining and sophisticated wine lists are on-site, with the newly renovated Rum Factory a particular hit, as is the Three Palms, overlooking the beautifully landscaped golf course.

We have all experienced challenges following Hurricane Beryl, and as a single mother, I could not bear to see my daughter suffer without electricity for days. I chose Hilton for their operational water park. After numerous attempts, I finally spoke with agent Richard, who convinced me to book a stay. Upon arrival, the check-in process was a bit slow due to only three agents being available. The welcome drink was delayed, and only alcoholic beverages were offered, which was disappointing. However, Sharlet at the front desk made the check-in process pleasant with engaging conversations. The highlight of the trip was receiving an email from Chadane offering special packages, and the all-you-can-eat Lobster Thursday night made my daughter's week unforgettable. Aston by Mangoes ensured that we were well taken care of at the water park. Meeting my former colleague Shelly, the entertainment manager, was a pleasant surprise as she made sure my daughter had a great time participating in various activities. Encountering another old colleague with her children added to the joy of the trip as my daughter had companions at the water park. It seemed as though Hilton anticipated our arrival and ensured our needs were met. The only downside was when I asked a water sport/lifeguard for assistance with an umbrella by the pool, and he rudely suggested that I move it myself. Despite this incident, I chose to focus on the positive aspects of the trip, such as my daughter's enjoyment and the friendships she made. Therefore, I have rated the hotel 4 stars. Thank you for making locals feel welcome at a hotel in our own country. Read less

I just want to review my recent visit to the All Inclusive Hilton Rose Hall, Montego Bay. I just want to review my recent visit to the All Inclusive Hilton Rose Hall, Montego Bay. Pros: Wide variety (meats, poultry, grains, soups, vegetables, fruits, desserts, breads, porridge, drinks, etc.) of tasty Caribbean and other cuisine (baked, fried, sautéed, stewed, boiled, raw) for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Buffet; enough seating area; and well attentive dining service (those hard working waiters who catered to our every need, cleaning the tables, refilling drinks even my 24 oz water canister with hot water, and even getting me plain yogurt at nights). — Then there are the other eating facilities besides the Buffet service. I really liked the food and the staff of the Seaside Grill for lunch. — Our Ocean View rooms on the 7th floor were well kept and serviced by Jacqueline and her accommodative staff, with the required amenities. And I just loved the morning views from the terrace. — Outside amenities I will not forget: friendly accommodating staff; enough beach towels and chairs; the Sugar Mills outdoor hot waterfall spa tub; exercising in the swimming pool; floating in the tubes around the course of the Lazy River, … and best of all swimming, diving, floating and bobbing up and down in the warm, delicious Caribbean Sea. Cons: There were so few that I prefer not to be nit-picky and not mention because the pros far outweigh any negativity. — I would love to return to this specific Hilton … (just wish it wasn’t so pricey). Image of the Tripadvisor rating I had a wonderful time at the Hilton Rose Hall resort and will definitely come back to visit in the future.

The room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff all over the resort were friendly. I met one gentleman who worked at the facility since the early 1990’s to me that’s an indication that Hilton not only takes care of the guests but also their employees.

Exceptional Service! Taniesha exceeded our expectations in every way. She made our wedding vow renewal a truly unforgettable experience. Her attention to detail, prompt responses, and dedication to ensuring our special day was flawless were impressive. We're thrilled to have had her by our side throughout the process. 5 stars aren't enough - she deserves a perfect 10! We had a fantastic stay! The servers were excellent, with a few exceptions where some staff had attitudes. However, the front desk team was knowledgeable, efficient, and very welcoming. The amenities were top-notch, and we thoroughly enjoyed the lazy river and the bar, where we spent a lot of time relaxing. The bar staff were friendly and attentive. While the food was decent, it could use some improvement overall. Despite this, we had a great time and would definitely return. Read less

Their service and friendliness goes above and beyond, they are the reason we return each year! Patrick, Farrell and O'Neil on the grounds crew, we can't say enough nice things about them, they came by to chat with us each morning and we felt like family with them each day. Malik was our server two times at the Seaside restaurant, he was so friendly and so good at his job! Annette from the spa always greeted us with a huge hug and hello every morning. Allison at Mangoes bar took very good care of us each afternoon during the rain storms, Donaldo at the pool bar was also great! Those are a few names I remembered, however every staff member we encountered were so kind. Our room was very clean, we had an amazing view from the oceanfront room we upgraded to, although having a connecting room it was definitely noisy and we could hear the family next to us so clear it seemed like they were in our room with us. Management, if you are reading this, please please please upgrade the carpeting in the hallways! They are gross and old and dirty, that is our only negative during our whole stay! Would recommend to families, friends, couples, singles, the resort is the best and we always enjoy our time! Read less
