During our stay at the resort we appreciated the beauty of the location and the satisfactory accommodation. Rooms were clean and maintained and culinary was delightful however, no television or phone worked in the room throughout our stay. Ground staff work very hard to keep the resort running but the entertainment fell sort, very disorganized, tardiness and repetitive performances. I did report a few issues which should of been solved by management but they seem to be more self-oriented then solving guest concerns, this seems to be a pattern with most guest. No information sharing, lack of communication between themselves and guest and a lot of unannounced changes and broken promise which is disappointing. Regrettably, various factors contribute to my decision to not revisit this establishment when returning to Jamaica which is a shame. Read less

We have been coming to this hotel for a number of years (as The Holiday Inn) and arrived 26th June after a 9 hour flight from UK, after the chaos of the airport we were taken to the hotel where we waited in a queue for what seemed like an age but more than an hour, there were 5 staff members at reception but only 2 actually working, we were too early to check but we had emailed a request for a fridge to put medication in, we were told we could only have one if one became available. We put our cases in a lockup for safety and waited. at 3pm we had to get in the queue again to check in, once checked in there was no-one available with a key for us to get our cases so we were standing around waiting and getting more frustrated by the second. Finally we got our cases and were shown to our room which was basic but adequate and we had 2 small bottles of water. We unpacked and noticed there were only 6 coat hangers so we contacted reception and were told to go through guest services so we asked at guest services and we were told there was only 6 coat hangers per room!!!! can you believe that, 14 nights holiday and 6 coat hangers between us so we had to lay our clothes over the rails, there was an iron but who wants to be ironing clothes every night? On our 2nd evening our room was missed cleaning so we reported it and were told somebody would come to do it, we went back to our room early (7.30) and the maid was just starting cleaning our room, we said we would go out onto the balcony, the maid finished the room shut the patio door completely (we had left a small opening) and switched the lights off and left us outside, when we questioned her (Delsha) she said she didn't want us to slip on the floor we thought it quite rude she never mentioned the room was finished. The maid service right through the holiday was very sketchy often getting your room cleaned after 4pm so didn't want to get in the shower in case they turned up, they very rarely left a bath mat so you were standing on towels. Beach towels were hit and miss having to go 3 and 4 times to change them, quite often we didn't bother. At 11pm on our 3rd night we were woken by a hammering on our door to a workman with a fridge for us we appreciated it but at 11 o'clock at night!! We asked for more bottled water for the room and were told that you only get bottled water on arrival and to fill your empty bottles up with the machines, any issues we had we quickly learned were managed by guest services what they do on reception other than check you in we haven't a clue mostly unhelpful no information from them other than "Go to guest Services". The food on the whole was good could have been hotter, at lunch we were never asked if we wanted wine with our meal unless Karen was on, we either had to catch someone's eye or do without. The A La Carte restaurants we visited The Sea Breeze great food great staff, The Italian great staff food great until our last visit when they changed the menu and the salmon instead of the usual tomato and caper sauce, polenta and veg it was served with lemon and caper butter and salad leaves the steak which was served with mash and veg was steak and small amount of veg but mash wasn't included only as a side order if you requested it we were disappointed. The Jamaican restaurant was great the first night Shane was our server and what a credit he is however our next visit wasn't good, we said good evening to Channel on the desk and she didn't even look up she walked away and counted tables, so rude, our server treated us as if we shouldn't be there, she was earlier with 2 other girls just lolling over the back of a chair and appeared fed up when they were expected to work, our server didn't even ask if we wanted more wine and when we had to ask she filled one glass and walked away, Audley asked when we left if we had enjoyed it we said no due to the rudeness of the staff, Audley said he would discuss this in a team meeting, from what we observed on further visits to the Italian next door the same 3 girls just lolling over a chair back, it's hardly a good advertisement for Jamaica. Also the dress code needs to be consistent one gentleman was sent back to his room in the Italian for having a sleeveless vest on and 20mins later a younger man was let in with a worse vest than before, It's strange that a man can't bear their arms but women can? There was mixed information regarding the hurricane we had a ground floor room and it had been announced the evening before that all guests on the ground floor had to change we weren't there and had we not been told by other guests vacating their room we wouldn't have had a clue no note from reception and any info we did get wasn't correct, the message we got was that dinner would be served in the room but it was served upstairs not everyone knew this we only found out because we needed our key redoing because it didn't work and after the hurricane they changed the mealtimes but nobody knew this so guests were just hovering around the buffet entrance. We have always enjoyed this hotel and it's location but our eyes were opened this time by the amount of rude staff I would have thought that the new management would be better served training the staff to show some respect and do their job rather than tinkering with menus, the attitude of the staff should certainly be addressed. Fortunately we didn't let the issues we experienced spoil our holiday and there are some really lovely staff. Karen, Simone, Robert, Romae, Shane, Audley, Adriana, Cruise, Janice, Fitzroy, Andrae and Joseph Whether we return again remains to be seen Read less

Buffet looked like it had sat out all day and tasted like it too. The grounds were not well kept and the outdoor air conditioners were rusted out. Read less

The quality of the buffet food has gone way down. Not only that the mosquitos were so bad you could barely eat. Not to mention there are cats running around everywhere even the buffet area. I am allergic to cats and if I knew this was allowed I would not booked this resort. I don’t believe I will be staying at this resort in the future. Read less

The say they offer spa they didn’t l, they say they have a gift shop it was not open, some of the food restaurants on the resort was open whenever they wanted it to be open. Before the hurricane even happened, we were not able to get on the paddleboats. After the hurricane happen, which it was on July 3, there were no air conditioner until July 6. They didn’t accommodate us in any type of way and did not care. They didn’t come and clean our sheets and we were there over a week wouldn’t bring us towels we had to constantly keep axing for towels Didn’t notify us that the phones weren’t working when we were trying to reach them . They told us not to come out the rooms to get food, but they had us in the rooms for hours before they called us and told us that we had to come out and get our food. The water was not working on and off from July 3 to the sixth. We had to get water from the ice machine to flush the toilet and bathe the exchange money booth was never open the whole time we were there from June 29 to July 6. There were burnt marks on the lamps in the room. The TV did not work. The Wi-Fi signal kept going in and out. Management was no help at all very rude. The only thing that was pleasant was some of the employees were very nice. Read less
