Pros: - Gym was excellent - Front of house staff were terrific Cons: - inescapable noise. DJs blast music from 11am until 5pm, then again from 10pm until midnight. Whether you’re at the pool, the beach, or even in your room there’s no break from it. The worst moments are went resort staff play amateur emcee and shout over the music through a… Read more

Whether you’re at the pool, the beach, or even in your room there’s no break from it. The worst moments are went resort staff play amateur emcee and shout over the music through a strained PA system - Food was mediocre, the beachside Jamaican restaurants were good, but all the themed a la carte options were disappointing. - Cleanliness was questionable. My room was worn but acceptable, but I received a wine glass with lipstick one evening Read less

The worst all inclusive I have ever been to. Very disappointed in many ways. Only a handful of friendly attentive employees....most stood waiting for tips. The food...I don't even know what to say about that and how awful it was. The choices at the buffet were slim and repetitive. The only meal I enjoyed was at the Italian restaurant. I will never… Read more

We stayed at hotel Zilara from January 17th to January 24th, 2024 and really enjoyed our stay.  It is very clean and the food excellent.  The staff was wonderful.   However, we reserved  an adults only option at the all-inclusive resort, and frustratingly, the  concept is not well implemented at the Zilara.  We thought we were going to get a better room, have adult only restaurants, bars, pools and a beach area that was off limits to the Ziva side which has young kids.   You would think that guests who do not pay for adult-only features are not able to utilize those facilities of the resort.  However, we found ourselves competing with the adults of the family section when looking for pool-side chairs - and had to choose the Ziva side at times because all the chairs were claimed on the Zilara side.  Also, the beach on the adult side is much smaller and more rocky than the family side.  Restaurants and entertainment are almost all on the Ziva side.  They do try to partition some restaurants so that Zilara and Ziva sides are not in the same room, but it is the Ziva side that gets the live music, for example.  And the buffet restaurant makes no attempt to provide an adult side only option.  Our room faced the Ziva pool area which caters to families, adding to the sense that our investment in an adult-only option was paying into a sham.   Sadly, although the room was nice (despite the view) the bed frame was dangerous and  I scraped my shin rather badly when walking around the bed. (The sharp metal frame, covered by sheets, protruded beyond the bed.) This resort is not advertised correctly. We stayed at the adult only portion, but we had to get most of our meals and main stage entertainment on the Ziva side with children that we had hoped not to be around.  Why did we pay more for Zilara when the experience of our stay would have been exactly the same had we booked a Ziva room?
