My husband and I spent 9 days at Sandals South Coast this month for our 30th anniversary. It was our first time in Jamaica and at a Sandals resort. We utilized a private car transfer to and from the resort and stayed in a rondoval suite with butler services. To say we enjoyed our trip is an understatement. The resort was great. There are several great restaurants on property and plenty of experiences to enjoy - activities and entertainment. All the pools and the beachfront were beautiful and well staffed. Our butler team was Kevin and Tevar. We couldn’t have asked for a better team. Their service, attention to detail and kindness were unmatched. I have a restricted diet and they went above and beyond to be sure I had delicious food to enjoy. We had special decorations added to our room to recognize our anniversary. They checked on us regularly and assured our every need was taken care of. We also never had to battle for a pool or beach lounge, as they took care of that each day. Read less

This is a very special resort in the Sandals brand. We were in one of the Rondoval rooms with Butlers Kim and Makare. The room was incredible but it really was our Butlers that brought out the best of the resort for us to enjoy. Also a special mention to the water sports team - we loved the sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding.

A lovely quick trip from Nov 2-Nov 7th . Upon arrival to the Jamica airport - we went thru the long line and arrived at the Sandals waiting room. It was so nice to be greeted by the employee checking us in taking our name, quickly stated "Happy Anniversary!" So sweet to have him do so.. Within ten minutes of our arrival the Sandals waiting area - we were escorted to our Sandal's transport. As mentioned in other reviews, the road bumpy, curvy, lanes are small in width, and some large trucks etc. People are trying to pass in unpassable situations - our driver Neal did the best he could avoiding the large potholes and keep us safe to and back to the airport - but Neal made it pleasant as could be (including his music choices). I did take Dramamine - and it helped! Upon arrival to South Coast - We were greeted by staff singing a "welcome song" and given a cold wet towel to wipe hands/face - introduced to our Loyalty/Travel staff member (the lovely Tennillie) then we were led to club sandals, where we were given rum punch to enjoy. There we checked in and found out - we were upgraded to room 3325, We were escorted to our room by Bertie, he was so helpful orienting us to the direction location of things on the way to our room. He also congratulated us on our Anniversary and said he had Gary set us up with something special to celebrate - which was Champagne/glasses, a lovely towel Swan and flowers - along with a nice card from Club Sandals congratulating us! The room is beautiful - a soaking tub on the balcony - overlooking a pool and the ocean. Very clean, and well appointed. Housekeeping did an excellent job - I never felt any sand on my feet after it was cleaned! Always smelled good after it was serviced. Once we settled in we walked the amazing beach. And started our stay. The Amenities and Restaurants. Spa - I did a 60 minute Lavendar massage - I should have scheduled a 90 minute - for Lashuana is an excellent masseuse therapist. Was able to work some knots out of my back, shoulders and neck! I hope you are there when we visit Nov 2025 for I will plan to book a couple of massages with you!. Bar We liked the pool bar bellow our room. Drummond was fun and engaging . Shakela was our favorite - not only did she bartend -she also served us on the beach with a wonderful welcoming smile/and so helpful. Favorite restaurants - Was the Italian ! The antipasta bar could be a meal in itself ! We choose to go there a couple of times - we enjoyed the staff/there team work and the food! Noted that during the "high winds/tropical storm the managers of this restaurant worked hard to accommodate as many people as they could by being creative and asking people if they would mind sharing tables together. This was a good idea since some restaurants had to be closed. Other good restaurants were Schooners - we had breakfast there a couple of times, the breakfast steak was the best in the resort! Alisha (in training is very sweet) she also helped us at Jerk Shake - by frequently checking into my sure we our drinks were refilled. We also appreciated Celon and Java at Schooners - they were timely/and friendly! The Jerk shack - I liked the Chicken and my husband enjoyed the pork - thank you to Jodie Ann, very attentive. Entertainment - STEEL DRUM BAND - !!! A must see , what a talented group! The Circus - another must see ! The acrobatics' and strength of these individual's is shocking - another talented group. The Lovely Lady - who sang at the Loyalty dinner, and her guitarist. Excellent ensemble! Loyalty/Travel We want to thank Tenille, appreciate getting to know you and your help with arranging our next visit at South Coast! The General Manager He is very present, and interactive -with not only the clients but also the staff! The staff are amazing never a negative comment. We have been to three other Sandals and staff are not as happy/engaged as your staff. They are invested, and that shown during the tropical storm - many of them came into work, and helped do two roles (so that people who couldn't come in felt supported) Great job with role modeling a positive culture! A few suggestions that I would like to share 1) Portable fan's in outside bars - to keep the bee's and bugs away. 2) In regard to the Loyalty dinner a) I would like to see the presentation of the Sandals School at the beginning rather than the end. People were not listening to the presentation because people were finishing up desserts and really to leave. b) The steaks were nothing compared to the steak at Schooners. The lobster was good. 3) Regarding the balcony in my room, we did not have a chair - but instead a hard bench that was really uncomfortable. I requested a chair to be brought to my room, for I could figure out how to make it fit - but no one brought it. 4) Activities -On the which the storm didn't occur, there was only volleyball. I came to the location for ping pong/bingo and also tie dying shirts - no one was present to lead those activities. On the storm day there were several inside activities that I did appreciate. Please don't post them if they aren't going to happen. 5) Communication about the Tropical Storm/possible hurricane. General manager did have a good group meeting with the patrons. The communication afterward was via paper put into doorways which as a little messy for it was rainy hard and the papers were on the floors sopping wet ! We didn't get a paper (several didn't either) - and took one off the floor, took pictures of it which described restaurants closed and activities going on during the storm. Would suggest an automated phone call, as well as using the electronic activity board for communications. I want to thank everyone again for a wonderful trip - I look forward to spending a week with you in Nov 2025 Read less

We returned to South Coast for our first time since 2006 when we stayed there initially. It was fun to see how much things have changed or some areas have not changed at all. I had always said Sandals Whitehouse had been my favorite All-Inclusive resort and after staying there again (with the name change to South Coast) I can confidently say, it still is my favorite!! We stayed in Longbeach in one of the new 1-bedroom butler suites. The room did not disappoint. We loved everything about that room. This was our 10th trip to Jamaica, seventh time at a Sandals property. We have never experienced having butlers before. We didn’t really know what to expect with them. Our butlers did fine, Shamar and Ackeem. We are fiercely independent people so having a butler really wasn’t for us, but in the future if we treat ourselves to the 1-bedroom suite again, we will be a little more familiar when to call on them and when we’d just rather go get our own drinks/food. Every single staff member we came in contact with were all super nice!!!! It was impossible for me to remember everyone’s names but Alicia really stands out. She was every where on the resort mingling with people and picking up trash where needed. Tenille was always super sweet. Our server, Lisa, at Schooners was also great. We had asked for her to be our server for our candlelight dinner on the beach but unfortunately it was a downpour of rain that evening so we just ended up going to Eleanors for the evening meal. Overall the food was fine…nothing spectacular but nothing bad either. My husband’s favorite meal was from one of the food trucks where he had fish tacos. My favorite meal was at lunch as well when the butler brought us deep fat fried shrimp with a sweet chili sauce. We always enjoyed our breakfast at Bayside as well. We only ate at Bayside one time for lunch and wish we would have ate there a few more times. Our trip from the airport to the resort took about an hour and 45 minutes. The first half was really rough but the second half was nice and smooth. We only signed up for Club Mobay on arrival. On our last trip to Jamaica we had it both on arrival and departing. We were very glad we had it on arrival this time, as we arrived with 3 other planes. But departing, we’d rather not have it. We enjoy people watching in the airport and the cost for departure is more than we spend on food/drinks while waiting for our flight. The only downside for us going in October to Jamaica was the heat and humidity. Definitely the hottest and most humidity that we have had in all of our trips there. We generally travel in January but I wanted to spend my birthday in Jamaica and not wait until January. Read less
