Bar well stocked daily Had some severe weather and even an earthquake but hotel staff handled everything and kept smiling There are no elevators so if you have bad knees ask for lower floor. Some tile work and sidewalks are showing age so care when walking in some areas Food: The buffet was actually really good Better then the Ala carte. ..they were good too buffet was really good. If you want the lobster at the Platinum it has to be pre-ordered. No one told us that part. Jerk hut and smoothie bar was never open the entire time we were there. The nightclub was also closed the entire week with no explanation Spa girls did walk the resort buy not pushy They had a few vendors on different days to do some shopping Gift shop extremely over priced with very limited selection. No shirts bigger then a medium. Now my biggest 1st world complaint but it was very big to me. The resort did not have coconut rum for 6 days!! It's the only thing I drink. 3 people a day would assure me it was coming. I finally paid a taxi to bring some from town. There are 300 staff tripping over themselves BUT MANAGEMENT failed me here. Someone ..somewhere should have been sent to town to get a few cases. It was available! Drink of the day was coconut rum based with a posted ingredient list ans they were substituting white rum without informing people. The 100$ I spent to get 2 bottles was never offered back to me in any way shape or form. But like I said. 1st world problem that I feel.should have been handled better Read less

Having read the previous reviews of this resort I had high expectations which unfortunately were not met. On arrival we found a seat as reception was full and the seating was limited and offered a cool towel and drink whilst we filled in the required paper work. Check in was smooth and we were told there would be about an hours wait for the room as it was still being serviced. However this turned out to only be about 15 mins. On being escorted the resort was explained to us. We were told that smoking was only permitted in designated areas due to Jamaican law. Our room was in beautiful spot with an amazing view of the ocean so we were initially extremely happy, unfortunately this was spoilt by other aspects of our stay. We spent 14 nights in the resort which is probably too much time. There is frequent turn over of short term holiday makers which are there to drink and party. Which means if your thief to relax, rejuvenate it can be very difficult to get away from the partying especially when the loud music on most nights goes on till 2am and you can hear in your room around the resort. One night it was still going on at 4 am. My other annoyance was the smoking. It seems the rules don’t apply to everyone! The smoking of ganga in the resort is frequent and everywhere and for someone who the smell makes me nauseous I spent a lot of time feeling sick. The staff do not challenge anyone whom is smoking outside of designated areas. Postives were the food. Every restaurant was amazing. Not one bad meal. The massage I had in the spa was lovely The coffee bar - Nickera (spelling) makes an amazing coffee and the cakes cookies were lovely too. The beaches - main beach wasn’t for us. The little quiet beach though was lovely and if you’re an early riser the birds are a lot fun to watch fishing. Plus this the best spot for snorkelling. Noise levels not just outside but in room is the reason I won’t return. The interconnecting door needs to be sound proofed as you can hear your next door neighbour’s private conversations. Overall not a bad place to stay but if they are aiming for spa and wellness there is a long way to go to achieve this and there are better resorts for this. Read less

Our experience at Jewel Cove was beyond our expectations. We were impressed by the friendly staff, the variety of dining areas and the intimate size of the resort. And no kids!! We got a great deal through our local travel expert. We will definitely consider a repeat vacation at Jewel Cove

I would never return here. Not much to do other than swim in the pool and drink terrible, bottom shelf liquor. Only one of the hot tubs worked, part of the time. I would never return here. Not much to do other than swim in the pool and drink terrible, bottom shelf liquor. Only one of the hot tubs worked, part of the time. I expected to be able to eat and drink around the clock if I desired but the bar didn't open until 10, and only certain food places were open. The pizza was undercooked the 4 times I tried it. The best thing was the Japanese hibachi restaurant...very good food and entertaining. Also, the piano bar was fun. The "gym" was very odd and uninviting with no tvs, no music, in small little rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful except when I got scolded 3 different times for taking some cheese and crackers to the bar/pool area. Don't waste your money here. Read less
