Not a beach hotel and the average guest age profile is probably 40+ but if that isn't important to you (or maybe a benefit...), this is a fabulous place to stay. Read less

We arrived just before hurricane Beryl arrived and we where kept informed by management throughout they went down to a skelton staff just to look after the guests most leaving there own families we where lucky it just brushed the island and all was safe . The barbecue was a success on both occasions fire eaters limbos very entertaining the whole hotel just makes you chill . A good thing is ask reception to book taxis to beach's and pay them saves hassle ie 80 dollars return to pidgeon island. Great to see all the staff again and to have Devon back is great cocktails are mmmmmm food so much choice hummingbird fine dining a great choice . We love this place and they all feel like family now so good will definitely be back already missing it Read less

My hubby Alan & I have just returned from 10 fabulous days spent at this little bit of paradise! From the moment you step over the threshold you are greeted by the happiest, friendliest, professional staff we have ever encountered. From the gardeners, cleaners, porters, receptionists, waiters/waitresses, chefs, bar tenders to management every single one of the staff are obviously so happy to work there & take pride in providing the best customer service ever. So many names to mention but Sam, Andrea, Verkeesha, Princess, Brendan, Dean & the rest of your amazing team were just the icing on top of the cake to what was already a phenomenal holiday. Your attention to detail in making sure that every guest had everything they needed & more to guarantee their holiday was one to remember was exceptional. We also can’t thank each & every one of you enough for taking care of us prior, during and after hurricane Beryl. We’re missing the Bel Joy & all the staff already but will particularly miss the singing, dancing & banter experienced daily. Dean, Sam & Verkeesha your dancing will forever bring a smile to my face x If anyone is considering visiting the Bel Jou then just book it you won’t regret spending your time in this little gem where your enjoyment, comfort & happiness will always come first. Everything about this place is just perfect from the stunning setting, delicious, fresh, varied food, plentiful drinks, amenities & the loveliest of staff. We stayed at the Bel Jou for 7 nights to celebrate our Honeymoon and couldn’t have picked a better hotel. Forget a Sandles resort where you are just a number! The Bel Jou staff offer a fantastic, family friendly environment surrounded by a small, but perfectly kept hotel where everything from the view over the Castries, to the swimming pools and restaurants are kept immaculately clean. The free shuttle service to the beach is great and is only a 5 minute ride away where the hotel also provides free sun beds. The Hummingbird a la carte restaurant is a must try and I found the food very good overall in the main buffet style restaurant. Although all the stuff were great, a special shout out to Princess who has been working in the industry for 25 years and is really Lovely. The hotel also did a great job of managing the recent hurricane warning - thank you for keeping us safe! Read less
