We had an amazing stay at this hotel, it was only short and we wish we could have stayed longer but it was very memorable! We had originally booked a room in the main hotel (Sugar Mill) but were upgraded to a luxury villa and it surpassed all our expectations. It was such a luxury to have our own plunge pool and the furniture/decor and whole experience were beautiful. It was immaculately clean and well kept and the staff were lovely. It looks exactly like the pictures. The location of the resort was stunning and not too busy, though it may have reflected the time of year that we stayed (end of Oct). Snorkelling off the northern beach was incredible, some of the best we've ever seen and we often book holidays based on snorkelling reports! The only down side was the confusion about where we were "allowed" to snorkel. It seems that the access to the marine reserve area is restricted but it was unclear as to who restricted this or whether hotel guests had to pay. It would be nice if the hotel could make this clearer to guests as we were approached several times by 3rd party sellers on the beach. We enjoyed the snorkelling where it was less busy (slightly to the left of the marine reserve, straight off the beach) and this area was not restricted. Read less

Where do I begin. Let's start with the concierge arranged drive from the airport to the resort. I asked the concierge service to arrange for an SUV service. I knew the roads from long ago and asked for SUV for safety and space, Edward picked us up in a Cadillac SUV. Edward is a former head of a local high school. The stories of the history of St. Lucia were an incredible start to our week. Long story short, we requested him for our trip back to the airport. Now, the resort. Unbelievable beauty, I literally can't describe how incredible this resort is. Location? You're on a beach where yachts worth millions of dollars park just to enjoy the beauty of Sugar Beach. Service? I have heard Michelin star reviewers will drop forks to see how long it takes staff to pick it up and replace it. I saw a couple leave a dip on the beach, only to have it replaced and placed under a towel. The client was amazed there was a replacement at their seat when they came back. At the Cane Bar, I personally made a game of reaching to fill my water glass before my waiter (my man Jimminy) could do so. I lost every time. Location 10/10 Service 10/10 Value 10/10 (but not cheap) As far as money goes, this place isn't cheap. They cater to a specific clientele. They know what they are and that's ok. Just know the room rate is just part of your overall bill. Between the 10% tax and service charges (another 10% that is split between all staff), and tips, your bill will grow quickly. There is an all-inclusive option, but I personally didn't think it was worth it at $660 USD per couple per night). I had the breakfast buffet ($50 USD per person), skipped lunch and had dinner (that I would estimate at $150 per person per night across the different restaurants and room service). Drinks are ridiculously expensive. Still (tap) water at the table? That's $5 USD for a plastic bottle of water. That was slightly grating. I don't believe still (tap) water should come at a charge. A local beer (Piton - good beer) in the room fridge is $5 USD, but it's much smaller than a regular beer in the U.S. An even smaller Heineken is $9. That's the price of paradise I suppose. Just stock up at the duty free is my best advice. All in all, you get what you pay for a stay at Sugar Beach. If you are considering staying at the property, ignore all the reviews that talk about visiting the beach. That is an apples-to-oranges comparison. Read less

We went to Sugar Beach for our honeymoon and every aspect of our trip was incredible!! It is absolutely peak luxury from start to finish. The rooms are gorgeous, the view is truly breathtaking, the food and drinks are incredible, and the amenities are top notch. Plus every staff member was so friendly and welcoming, they made us feel like such valued guests. They remembered our names and certain details about us, and those little moments just made the trip even more memorable. I can’t recommend Sugar Beach enough! We went during their rainy season but it was still beautiful; it rained for maybe 30 minutes a day but it was a welcome, refreshing break from the heat and passed quickly. The only word of warning is for those who have motion sickness - the drive from the airport is really challenging, but I knew this going in, took the medication I needed and was fine. Read less
