We went to see and hear the history of Raffle hotel Singapore, Yusof was super knowledgeable and told us many of the celebrities guests (Queen Elizabeth, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Bill Clinton....). He also mentioned the owners and original furnitures of the hotel.

I’ve been fortunate in my life to stay at some of the best hotels in the world, and I can honestly say that Raffles is one of them. My partner and I checked into one of the Grand Hotel Suites, and from the moment we checked in until the moment we left, it was pure luxury. The hotel is immaculate; I have never stayed anywhere that felt so well maintained. The staff (and not just our Butler) go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, even remembering your drink preferences and breakfast choices. When they approach you, they have made the effort to learn your names first. Breakfast is exceptional. If you want something not on the menu, they are happy to prepare it for you if you give them enough notice. Afternoon Tea is a wonderful experience and is a must. Having the customary Singapore Sling in the Long Bar, complete with the tradition of dropping peanut shells on the floor is also not to be missed. In the evenings, we dined in our room, which was excellent, and at the Tiffin Restaurant a couple of times. The Tiffin Restaurant is located where breakfast is served, but I must admit I was not overly impressed. I love Indian cuisine and live in the UK, where we have access to fantastic Indian restaurants, including one- and two-star Michelin restaurants. Given the restaurant's great history, I was excited to try the food, but while it was fresh and well presented, it lacked a depth of flavour. Despite the wonderful stay, I did encounter a few disappointments. It felt like the staff at breakfast were a bit pushed. On two occasions, items were forgotten, including a complete breakfast order one morning and orange juice that I requested twice but never received. I have read criticisms online that Raffles can be rude to those who are not staying at the hotel, but I find this completely unfair. I witnessed firsthand how the staff warmly welcomed people who wanted to look around or had booked afternoon tea. They do their best to protect the privacy of hotel guests, meaning some areas are not open to the public. All in all, it was an amazing hotel, and when I return to Singapore, Raffles will be the only hotel I choose to stay at. Read less

I have travelled the world many times but no hotel has ever compared to Raffles Singapore. The thrill of staying at Raffles is much more than the beauty of this magical setting, the thrill for me and my daughter lies in understanding and having a chance to relive the history. After enjoying High Tea in the Grand Lobby, we took a Raffles Hotel history tour with the amazing hotel historian, Mr. Yusof. Mr. Yusof made the beautiful spirit of the hotel come alive for us. We could almost envision the elegant dancers in their splendid attire as he played the authentic antique gramophone for us. Our friend even got the chance to play a song for our group on the original piano once played by Noel Coward, Sir Elton John, and many others. This was my second stay at Raffles and the renovations have done the Grand Dame proud. I’m home now, but dreaming of my return. Thank you Mr. Yusof and thank you everyone who made our stay at Raffles so perfect. Read less
