This is a hidden paradise, conveniently close to the airport, beach, and national parks. The facilities are superb with an even more amazing staff, everyone went above and beyond to be very kind and helpful at every encounter. From our warm welcome, to the delicious food, well kept grounds, and beautifully designed rooms everything was top. There is a lot more I could elaborate on but mostly want to give a big thank you to everyone at the Slate for a wonderful experience 🙏 Would definitely recommend! Read less

The beds and bedding at the slate are worth 5 stars on their own. They were the comfiest I have ever slept on! Everywhere also smells divine. So much so that we bought some of their beautiful Jasmine products to bring home with us. We were lucky to be upgraded to a pool room and it was spectacular, so much space and wonderful amenities. The style is very industrial chic, lots of concrete, mean and moody lighting, stark lines. Lots of grey, huge loft style doors, but it doesn't feel cold, actually all very clever and well thought out. This makes the hotel quite unique. It is huge, very maze like, but we got the hang of it quite quickly. The pools were lovely, cocktails good. Breakfast was OK, very busy, but did have everything you could wish for. Service was always smiling, friendly and courteous, but slightly chaotic at times! Perfect for a couple of days at the end of our Thailand adventure. Read less

5 th visit. We are in love with The Slate. The unique decor, totally eco, outstanding service and attention to detail. It is our favourite place to stay anywhere. Great to be so close to airport, easy to secure a late( usually free) checkout for night flights

Just wow, we were swept off our feet for 11 nights at the Slate! We returned as a family of 3, a little over 10 years after we spent our honeymoon there. The decor, ambience, quiet architecture, beautiful aromas, music, food and location are all excellent however the stand out was the staff who went above and beyond and just seemed happy to be doing their work and helping guests. We unfortunately encountered a bad storm when arriving that caused a power outage for 2 nights. The hotel did everything they could to make us comfortable and enjoy the start of our holiday, which was most appreciated. We booked a D/buk family suite that was spacious & perfect for us. Our daughter loved the huge bath and having her own bed. Kids club was a huge hit - our daughter did most of the activities and made a few friends throughout the holiday. It gave us time to enjoy the adults pool and local massages. We also had a couples massage at Cocoon Spa which was 5 star. We celebrated a milestone birthday at Black Ginger which was exquisite with lots of special touches. Breakfast offerings are fresh and vast so we enjoyed trying different things - the iced coffee was so delicious and refreshing. We enjoyed a perfect mix of pool and beach time as well as a few trips around the island. Again, the staff did a great job and made everything easy. We’re already dreaming of our next visit 💙 Read less

Since 2015 we have been visiting The Slate for 2 weeks each year. We have tried looking elsewhere however, every year the lure of the beauty, natural surroundings, unbelievable food, immaculate service and more importantly wonderfully natural staff makes the return the easiest choice of the year. The amazing decor, art, authentic buildings and nature makes this resort stand out as a truly unique place to stay. The bars and restaurants stand out against any I have visited anywhere, all wrapped up in a truly Thai experience of first class customer service. You need to start your evening in Rebar to enjoy a drink just before sunset and watch the lush green landscape turn into a beautiful night. Then head downstairs to the Rivet restaurant to what I can only describe as the most amazing decor, settings, service and cuisine. The stand out feature is the truly amazing staff...you never feel anything less than special and their smiles make every day at The Slate a real joy. Any issues or queries are dealt with promptly and without fuss. Nothing feels like too much of an issue. For anybody who doesn't rate their experience here highly, I think a corporate hotel that simply follow scripts may be the best option! Read less
