Had a great experience at the Courtyard Key Largo with my wife and two toddlers. Check-in was smooth and the staff member (probably badly mispelling) Lakayla was very welcoming and helpful. She upgraded us to a large suite and gave us a nice welcome package which included dining recommendations, a chocolate and coupon for discounted chocolates from Key Largo Chocolates.
The rooms are a little older but are maintained well and kept very clean. Our suite was very large and probably the size of two rooms. It had a large living area that our kids loved running around, two balconies overlooking the pool and marina which we enjoyed, bathroom, and a huge closet the size of a bathroom. There is covered parking which was great because we just left our bikes right behind our parked car and didn't need to worry about weather.
We had dinner across the marina at Skipper's which was a very quick and safe bike ride over (easily walkable as well). The connected marina itself seems great with advertisements of boat rides and fishing trips, which we would definitely take advantage of in the future.
The hotel is right down the road from Pennekamp state park as well as Publix super market and has safe and shaded bike paths that we took advantage of.
We chose food and beverage credit ($20 per night stayed) as the welcome gift and had a delicious breakfast at the bistro. We spent much more than $20 but Ann Marie was very gracious and didn't charge us anything.
The hotel is in a great location and has everything you need. The staff is wonderful and accommodating and make you feel like family. We will definitely come back to stay here next time we are in Key Largo as there is a lot we still want to do!

The hotel was a disappointment.

The hotel was a disappointment. The room was clearly old and dated and in desperate need of an upgrade. There were holes in the walls, the lights over the bed did not work, the toilet paper holder was broken, the door to the room did not close all the way, a curtain was used for a close door (?). It took 10 minutes to get any hot water in the…

There were holes in the walls, the lights over the bed did not work, the toilet paper holder was broken, the door to the room did not close all the way, a curtain was used for a close door (?). It took 10 minutes to get any hot water in the shower. Having a restaurant that only served breakfast was also disappointing. There were water bottles in the room but they were so small and we weren't sure if we would be charged for them (no information provided). There was no microwave in the room and an old style coffee maker. We have stayed here before but will not come back to this hotel.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights and can't find much to complain about. Staff was friendly from check-in to check-out. We loved the convient walk across the parking lot to Rainbow Reef for our dive trips. That alone earns 5 stars!

We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony in the evenings. The pool was nice but if you are looking for more of a resort style pool, you can use your Courtyard key to access Holiday Inn's pool and tiki bar.
Plenty of nearby restaurants, convenience stores, drug stores, within walking distance made this an ideal location for a no frills dive trip.

Overnight stay in the Keys.

Stayed for one night on the way to Key West. Check-in was easy and staff were friendly. Room was clean and a good size. Ate at Skippers opposite and drinks at Snooks watching the sunset which was a good recommendation. Nice to stay at a hotel in the US that didn’t charge resort fees.
