After hearing that Sand Key is not as crowded as Clearwater Beach, we decided to stay at this 10-floor all-suite hotel for a few nights to have beautiful water views. As Platinum Elite Bonvoy members, we travel often, and we enjoyed this hotel so much that we highly recommend it! Since it is a popular hotel, we used suite awards each night to get upgraded to a high floor (the 9th). Knowing there was no concierge lounge at this hotel, we still greatly enjoyed wonderful food and drinks at their Watercolour Grillhouse for breakfast and dinner, refreshing frozen drinks at Kokomos poolside bar and grille, and convenient snacks, Gatorade, and sodas at the Bistro. All of the service in the entire hotel was top-notch, which created a very pleasant, welcoming environment! Our favorite employees were Michael, the friendly, informative valet, who was happy to park our daughter’s car for a couple of hours while she visited us, and Stephanie and Ruth at the front desk, who always greeted us with a smile and answered any questions we had. The beautiful pet macaw was so much fun to watch as she sometimes appeared in the lobby and sometimes outside near the pool. Since Sand Key is narrow, we had views of both the Clearwater Bay and the Sand Key Beach from our 2-room suite, which was great during hot July when we didn’t want to actually walk along the beach. We didn’t take a car, and the hotel had everything we needed for a restful stay. For those who want to go out and about, the hotel staff will take guests to the Sand Key Beach in a golf cart, and a free trolley will take guests to the larger Clearwater Beach. Next time we are considering staying at this hotel we will make sure they are not doing construction. One day on this trip we were woken up at 6:15 am by very loud hammering and drilling noises, even though the website says the construction starts at 7:30 am. Besides that one issue, this is a wonderful hotel! Read less

Great base and given the traffic and hassle parking, the free use of the trolley buses made a huge difference. Nice pool although busy and decent rooms for families. Food options just next door if you don’t want to use the hotel for everything and town is just 10 mins on the bus. Big call out to Lead Concierge Mike L who was super welcoming and… Read more

I knew it was spectacular as soon as I walked through the door! The desk/service was always asking if we needed anything. They gave out bottled waters to everyone every day. The pool was HUGE, and extremely fancy. They even have there own macaw parot named Lisa! The water pressure was higher than Mount Everest, so that was nice. There breakfast was outstanding! They had so many options and they switched out stuff! They had a 8 seater golf cart that would drive you to the beach! His name was bob so we nicknamed him Beach Buggy Bob, lol. I definitely will choose this place again when I'm staying in clear water! Read less

If you’re looking for a glitzy beach resort, then Marriott Suites on sand key might not be your best choice! If however you’re looking to truly relax in a clean, comfortable environment with large bedroom suites with stunning views of both the bay AND gulf views , then book a room here. EVERYONE who works at this Marriott, from the front desk, dining venues, luggage and beach transfers and housekeeping are uniformly personable and accommodating! The prime location on Sand Key and the ability to use the beach at either Sand Key park or the beach in front of the Sheraton ( our family’s preference), plus the always ready golf cart transport to/ from was PERFECT! Grab some towels and gratis water from the front desk ,and don’t forget your sunscreen!! The beach is beautiful and clean, rental umbrellas and lounges available. While our family did go off premise for some dinners via the Jolly Trolly, a free transport convenience, the street / tourist congestion throughout Clearwater Beach and the hotel zone made us appreciate that we were staying in a more peaceful environment at the Marriott. Finally, there are dining venues for all meals at the Marriott, all good and fairly priced ( Watercolor for dinner , $$$ ). There is also a lively bar ,with entertainment on the weekends and good dirty martinis ! Our family of various ages all appreciated our family time together and would return for a future visit , but would add a few more days.. Read less
