My wife and I visited the SeaGuini restaurant which was disappointing . Overpriced food and I was served a very overdone pork chop smothered in a thick sauce which killed the taste and with unappetizing vegetables . Wine list fine but no years displayed . This restaurant need to up its game considerably as the hotel is very nice and staff and… Read more

**As of Nov 2024, it appears the parking lot next to the hotel is being used for beach cleanup, sand piles, and construction vehicles- Do not book if this will interfere with your enjoyment!!** Gulf front bookings include this view of the parking lot. I've stayed multiple times and loved it until my last trip in April. "Gulf Front" suites can be on either end of the hotel, so this time we were put on the eighth floor, directly over the parking lot and right across the street from construction. We could not use the balcony or have doors open during the day due to noise and dust. Even at night, the view and sounds are of traffic, music being played in vehicles in the parking lot, and people yelling on the street. They claimed all suites were taken and the refused a partial refund and room change. I ended up paying for an additional room to sleep in and used the suite for eating, etc. Construction noise starts around 8 AM and it is LOUD- beeping trucks, jackhammers, etc. I was willing to stay again with guaranteed room location. They do not guarantee room location!! You can only request a room away from construction. These rooms cost the same as other rooms at the hotel. If you don't care about the view and/or noise, it is a nice hotel and the restaurant is great. Room service is reasonably priced. The only other issue we had was a sewage smell in one of the bathrooms. Thankfully, we had a half bath and could just keep the other one closed. Read less

As many know we just went through 2 hurricanes (Helene & Milton). My son is a lineman and since Helene (Sept 26th) has worked (12-14) hour days/every day for up to 2 weeks without a day off. He had a day off when Milton hit and has worked everyday since then! Last week he made a reservation at Opal sands for him and his wife/kids as a ‘thank you’ for being so supportive during this time!!! The beginning of this week he was informed he was needed to work this weekend!! Long story short, yesterday he called Opal Sands to cancel and they said he is outside the time period (7 days) to cancel with refund! He would have to forfeit the reservation and lose $600+! That’s awful! Most hotels are (24-48) hr cancellation policy! Definitely will never stay there after this!!! Read less

The hurricane damage in the area was obviously not the fault of the resort. When we arrived no one was at the front desk and we had to track down someone at the 4pm check in. There was a $35 per day fee which was supposed to have covered ‘complimentary fresh fruit and snacks daily.’ There were snacks, water and ice. That’s it. Also, the… Read more

There was a $35 per day fee which was supposed to have covered ‘complimentary fresh fruit and snacks daily.’ There were snacks, water and ice. That’s it. Also, the Valet forgot to include a makeup case in our car, after we brought the luggage down ourselves. We were told to come back for it. The Valet did not even bother to come to the car to see why we returned 30 minutes later. No ‘sorry’ or anything from anyone It was our 50th wedding anniversary which we saved up for. The view was lovely and the shampoo, etc was top quality,, but the bill was over $1300 for two nights. We were really looking forward to this weekend, picking what we felt would be the best resort in Clearwater, but it fell short. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Don’t book spa!!!

Sep 14, 2024 Jennifer C

The Spa has a 24 cancellation. So, if you come for the weekend don’t book with them. Plus, when you call back they don’t answer phones. We canceled appointment the night before they open 8-5, they call you back at the point of your appointment. Stating it’s gonna cut into your time. Just bad follow up and bad service…
