Postcard Inn on the Beach

St Pete Beach, Tampa and Clearwater/St Pete

Virgin rating

The hotel

Hip and most definitely happenin’, Postcard Inn on the Beach remains true to its surfer-cool, 1950 motel roots. U-shaped with an impressive swimming pool and a grove of mature royal palms at its core, it joins a new wave of stylish hotels at affordable, bound-to-please everybody prices! No two rooms are exactly alike, although all have vintage furniture, flat screen TV, high-speed Internet access and murals or a photographic collage of all things surfing-orientated on the wall. Try some regional American fare for dinner at the Stamps Lobby Bar and Restaurant. There’s also a beach bar and snack shack down by the ocean so you can grab a drink and a hot dog whilst soaking up the sun. Downtown St Petersburg is a few minutes away or spend time at the beach, indulging in a variety of water sports, including that all-important surfing!

I booked 3 different rooms. Spent over 800$ to have a room with No AC, which they gave us a floor fan in the middle of summer in Florida. I complained and I was not asking for a full refund but at least half and they denied it. I typically never right bad reviews but this is unacceptable having NO A/C on a room that I paid over 500$ . It’s an absolute tip. Not a penny spent on the rooms and they don’t even have room service Staff are disinterested. Book a real hotel please don’t waste your money. It needs to be knocked down before it falls down It is really really awful. Not even a closet just a rail

It did fill up being summer and a pool/beach/tiki-bar location, but it never felt overly crowded. The biggest hit is the friendly staff! They really tried to make your stay the best. From seamlessly cleaning, keeping the towels restocked, redirecting kids who were splashing in a positive way, driving the RC Jeep around with free frozen treats during the hottest parts of the day, remembering who you were even though they see hundreds and hundreds of guests a day, and generally being kind folks to everyone. Especially staff members Tristan and Grace, keep an eye out for them and say hi! We're aiming at returning and maybe trying to make this trip an annual thing for our little one! Read less

The hotel is good during the week. Make sure you are in a “renovated room” otherwise you will be not happy. The first room we got was terrible to say the least. They moved us to a poolside room the next day and it was much better. They stated renovations for the other room starts next month. On the weekends this is party college central. Poolside DJ that only plays club music goes all day and most of the night. People are allowed to buy a day pass and use the same amenities as staying customers. During the week this is quiet relaxing hotel on the beach. Pool is very nice but you are only allowed 1 towel per person which is inconvenient. All of the staff was nice to us. Definitely overpriced for what it is. Pictures of the rooms are not very accurate. Please read google reviews before booking. Read less
