Postcard Inn on the Beach

St Pete Beach, Tampa and Clearwater/St Pete

Virgin rating

The hotel

Hip and most definitely happenin’, Postcard Inn on the Beach remains true to its surfer-cool, 1950 motel roots. U-shaped with an impressive swimming pool and a grove of mature royal palms at its core, it joins a new wave of stylish hotels at affordable, bound-to-please everybody prices! No two rooms are exactly alike, although all have vintage furniture, flat screen TV, high-speed Internet access and murals or a photographic collage of all things surfing-orientated on the wall. Try some regional American fare for dinner at the Stamps Lobby Bar and Restaurant. There’s also a beach bar and snack shack down by the ocean so you can grab a drink and a hot dog whilst soaking up the sun. Downtown St Petersburg is a few minutes away or spend time at the beach, indulging in a variety of water sports, including that all-important surfing!

Does anyone know the scent the PCI used in their lobby? I haven’t been in ages. Our daughter graduated from Eckerd and we visited PCI many times. Other than narrowly escaping a lightning strike on the pool deck everything we experienced was pleasantly memorable. We recently had our dream wedding at Postcard Inn on the Beach in St. Pete, and it exceeded all of our expectations! From start to finish, the experience was flawless, and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Location: The setting at Postcard Inn is simply magical. Nestled right on the water, the views of the Gulf were absolutely stunning, especially during our sunset ceremony. The beachside location created a relaxed yet elegant vibe that our guests loved, and it made for some incredible photos. Accommodations: The retro, beachy charm of the motel made it feel unique and cozy. The rooms were beautifully designed, comfortable, and just steps from the beach. Having our guests stay right on-site added to the convenience and made it feel like a destination wedding without having to leave Florida! Working with Merzedes: One of the best parts of our experience was working with Merzedes. She was an absolute joy to collaborate with! Merzedes went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our day was perfect. From helping us with planning and coordinating the event to handling last-minute changes with ease, she made the entire process stress-free and enjoyable. The Reception: Our beachside reception was nothing short of amazing. The food was delicious, the service impeccable, and the laid-back, tropical atmosphere fit our vision perfectly. Our guests had a blast dancing under the stars, and the outdoor spaces gave the evening a fun and festive feel. If you’re looking for a beachside wedding venue that combines charm, style, excellent service, and an incredible staff like Merzedes, we highly recommend Postcard Inn on the Beach. It was everything we hoped for and more—a day we’ll never forget! Love the Doyle’s!!!!! Read less

The check in was easy, check out even easier. Only downside we experienced was half of the hotel/resort was under construction (renovations), so there was a bit of noise pollution during the day, but we were able to ignore it and focus on the poolside music and conversations. We were told construction will be completed by 2025. We saw a model room, and it will be a great beach hotel!! Also, we did not have an 'in-room' coffee maker, but there is an onsite coffee shop, so maybe it is by design. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Read less

You can hear everything because the walls are thin. There aren’t many guests here so they could have assigned us a better room on the courtyard side but no. We were thrilled that the “resort fee” ($45 daily) included beach chairs. Didn’t know it’s only the chairs with no umbrellas. It’s $30 extra per day for an umbrella! The pool is large and clean. The staff did give us towels each day and 2 waters per room. The ac is cold. Hot water is hot and plentiful. No frills but it’s ok for the price we paid. Read less
