It is true that the hotel needs renovation, but it is still worth staying here because it has a shuttle, a good gym and a very delicious breakfast, including eggs benedict. I was fully recognized as a diamond member and Blanca and Yolene in particular took exceptional care of me.

Stayed at the Doubletree Miami Airport last night on an overnight layover coming home from an international trip. The hotel itself was fine and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
However we had a less than great experience with the complimentary shuttle service. I called upon landing and was told they pick up between gates 5 and 23 and the shuttle should arrive in approximately 15 minutes. We were at door 21 so I told the person on the phone we’d be waiting there. After 30 minutes with no sign of the shuttle I called back and was told the driver had to stop for gas and should just be a few more minutes and he was aware we were waiting at 21. Another 15 minutes later he drove by and completely ignored us, as it appeared the shuttle was full (not his fault, but acknowledgement would have been nice.) I called the hotel again, and was told another driver would be sent and it’d be another 15 minutes. I asked if we should relocate to door 5 and was told that would be better. So we walked 10 minutes to door 5 and barely were able to cram into the next shuttle. It’d be helpful if the hotel could advise passengers to go to Door 5 so they don’t keep missing shuttles. When we arrived it was late and we had an early flight so we asked about the morning shuttle and were told the first shuttle would run promptly at 6, and they didn’t take reservations, so come 5 minutes ahead and we’d be first in line.
We came 15 minutes early and barely were able to get on the full shuttle. The driver did not arrive until 6:09, and did not even attempt to assist anyone with bags. He did not speak a word, did not ask where anyone needed to be dropped, and did not announce what airlines were at a given stop. Most of the people got off at the first stop for American Airlines. My mother, who is a senior, asked if we could be dropped at Delta, down near the end of the line. The driver did not respond, so she asked again for door 22 and he snapped back at her “I know where Delta is!” She apologized and said, “I’m sorry, I wasn’t sure you’d heard me.” He said nothing and again didn’t attempt to assist in any way with bags or speak a word. I typically don’t leave reviews, but this was very unprofessional, and did not reflect well on the hotel at all. We selected this hotel with criteria including a shuttle service, and this was very disappointing.

Unbelievably Disappointing Experience at DoubleTree by Hilton at Miami Convention Center

I booked a room at the DoubleTree by Hilton at Miami Convention Center eight months in advance (February 2024) for a one-night stay on October 19, 2024. After confirming my reservation by phone on October 18th and verifying that we would have a room with two queen beds and a sleeper sofa, as well as a reliable airport shuttle service, I anticipated no issues. Unfortunately, what we experienced was nothing short of appalling.
After twelve hours of travel, my family and I waited an hour at the Miami airport for a shuttle, calling the hotel twice for assistance. When we finally arrived at the hotel around 10 PM, exhausted and with children in tow, we were met with the unthinkable—the hotel had no room for us. They stated they were overbooked and had been since September. When I pointed out that I had booked in February and called the day prior to confirm, they shrugged their shoulders with no explanation or apology.
The front desk staff were astonishingly unhelpful and unapologetic. Rather than attempting to remedy the situation or arrange alternative accommodations, they directed us to call Hilton customer service. The Hilton representative confirmed my reservation but came back with the same dismissive response after speaking with the hotel—they were "booked since September," despite my booking clearly being in the system since February.
After much back-and-forth, the Hilton rep finally offered to book us into another property—at an additional cost of over $200, with no refund or compensation for the nightmare unfolding. At nearly 11 PM, we were told, essentially, “tough luck.” My children were falling asleep in the hotel lobby while we received no help, no support, and absolutely no accountability from the staff.
This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. I would expect a brand like Hilton to hold itself to a higher standard of customer care. This experience has left me wary of booking with Hilton again and strongly advising others to avoid this property if they value reliability and respectful service. This is truly unacceptable.

This was not the hotel we wanted to stay in but because of Hurricane Milton Everything else was fully booked. The stay itself was not bad, because of my status we were upgraded to a suite. On the downside was the paid parking and the incredible slow check in process for many of the guests, the hotel seemed unprepared for so many customers.
