Esme Miami Beach

Miami Beach, Miami

The hotel

Bringing an edgy yet sexy Espanola vibe to South Beach, Esme is a hotel come “village” that offers a fun and sophisticated place to stay to enjoy the best of Miami. There’s no doubt that the rooftop deck is the place to be here. Chill at the pool by day, whether it’s in the water or on the very ‘instagrammable’ day beds. As the day draws to a close, enjoy a sundowner from The Roof Bar and soak up the music. Live DJ sessions carry on into the night on Friday’s and Saturdays so you can celebrate the weekend in style. There’s plenty of other bars and restaurants to enjoy at Esme, make sure you book a reservation at the hidden Sushi Bar with only 12 prized seats so you can devour nigiri to your hearts content. As you walk through the buildings of the hotel you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into Spain with the plant lined terraces and deep red tones, and then that glorious sunshine will hit you as you leave the lobby – where you’re just 4 minutes’ stroll from Ocean Drive and the beach itself. If you carry on down past the Versace Mansion (which we’d recommend booking into for lunch!) to the Art Deco Gift Shop, you can join a tour of the Art Deco district. Or make use of the complimentary bicycle rental from the hotel to explore Miami Beach at your own agenda. If it’s more down time you’re looking for, the hotel offers a beach service with towels and chairs too.

Below has been emailed 3+ weeks ago to the hotel with no response nor acknowledgement. Myself and my partner recently stayed at Esmé Friday 27 - Sun 29 September, and whilst the hotel experience was generally positive and felt obligated to complain regarding our poor check in experience which essentially ruined our first day in Miami. After traveling all day from the UK we arrived quite early at the hotel around 1pm, not expecting our room ready the woman at the desk noted our room as express to try and get it early. We then left and killed some time until 4pm - as this as stated on your website is the latest guaranteed check in time. The man at the desk dismissed us saying it wasn’t ready and there’s nothing he can do and we should leave and try again later (no apology, not eta given). The lady also on the desk gave a customer next to us a room upgrade and glass of champagne for the exact same reason, which felt at worst slightly discriminatory towards us or at best ridiculously socially unaware from the man talking to me. The room wasn’t ready until 5:30pm which as you may appreciate, after traveling all day all we wanted to do was freshen up and change into non-travel wear. With such a late check in it meant we had to cancel reservations as there wasn’t enough time to get ready in time. So this delay ruined our first evening. Again the man offered no apology, let alone any gesture or compensation which is poor. Read less

Absolutely terrible and unethical customer service. They ended up fraudulently charging credit cards for cancelled rooms. Their sales manager screamed at me.They admitted that their cleaning staff threw away (aka stole) a valuable belonging of ours. Just a complete mess of a hotel.

Great location and service. The rooms are quite small and have no space enough for our clothing. However the staff attention and kindness overcome any inconvenience. We fully recommend to know the rooftop. Special thanks for Grabriela, JD and Justin.

We did, however, had an issue with no hot water in the room in the morning. Manager on duty in the AM said it was a city issue (never heard a town restricting hot water), so we called 4 other hotels a few doors away and not only did they have hot water but never heard anything about city restrictions/repairs.. We complained in the afternoon and were told it's a pipe issue... Since we tried hot water in other room that they showed us we swapped .. Came the morning no hot water again.. To top it off, another review complained about the same thing a week before we arrived.. But we figured they'd have it fixed.. We were wrong.. They lure you into staying and had we known the hot water was still an issue we would have checked out.. Luckily we only had a few nights... Avoid it, cancel your reservation and go somewhere else... This place isn't worth ruining your vacation. Read less
