We stayed here one night after our flight was canceled. The room was tiny. Both beds were pushed up against the walls. The carpet was peeling up off the floor. Walls appeared dirty in the rooms and in the common areas. The air did not work well and our room was hot. I heard what I thought was a shower all night long but instead it was water from the air conditioner running the entire night. Breakfast was cluttered, dirty, not stocked well and $20 for what is complimentary at most hotels and also better at those hotels. However, I dealt with three hotel front desk clerks while there and all were very professional, pleasant and accommodating. They took very good care of us and tended to all our needs. The location is also good. It is one block from the beautiful beach and walking distance from many attractions. This is a crappy hotel with great staff in a nice location. Read less

I was telling him I can send you a credit card authorization form with a copy of my ID he said NO so I asked to speak to a supervisor he said NO. So I didn’t feel like dealing with him and I made a new reservation for my brother online for only one night and I booked him the rest of the week at Marriott. As a Hilton honor member I’m telling the corporate office do some investigations on this property or I’ll take my business somewhere else. Read less

For a Hilton Garden Inn hotel paying between 600 and 300 hundred dollars per night, depending the day, I expected much more. Breakfast not inclued, paid 19 dollars and a total disaster. Room small, ugly bathroom. Highlight, the beach is just one block away.

This place is terrible and far below Hilton standards. We just stayed at the Hilton Garden in Times Square Cental and it was great. I am a Hilton Honors Silver member and no stranger to the chain. This place is worse that some short stay hotels I have visited back in my youth! Especially bad if you are in a wheelchair like my friend and I. First there is no parking on site. There was nobody to help my wife lug the luggage up the hot front steps. The valet parking only has 10 spots. Of course it was full so then they send you to a public parking garage way off site. . The accessible entry door did not work so either my wife had to go inside and open it or I had to telephone the staff and wait for them. Then I had to ride a lift to the lobby. Not a big deal but the second indoor handicapped lift did not work so I had to go to my room to use the bathroom and I couldn't reach any amenities. We had to go outside to get to the bar/restaurant which only had bar seating to eat. We had to eat on the hot porch on the street. There was no breakfast available so we had to roll a block away to eat each morning. The one time we ate at this hotel the food wasn't bad but the menu was very limited. Bar food not dinner! The rugs were dirty and the hallway looked like the government subsidized apartment house my friend lived in. The place is old and tired and not at all Hilton! This hotel has only one room with a roll in shower and two beds so I let my friend take that one for him and his mom. Our room wasn't great but the batroom was nice. Unfortunately is was tiny and difficultfor me to use. They gave me a shower chair but it was a struggle for me to use the shower. The evening staff member guy was nice but the girl on the day shift was as nasty as could be. The location was close to the beach but I would never stay there again. As we left many people heard my complaints to Miss Nasty, mind you zi was very civil to her, and most of them agreed NEVER AGAIN! I thought staying in an Art Deco building would be cool but they don't meet Hilton standards at this place!? Read less

First, I want to start with the positives. The location is GREAT! Miami Beach is a loud, busy, fun area and the location of the Garden Inn is perfect for when you want to leave the fun, walk a few blocks, and have a quiet place to sleep. First, I want to start with the positives. The location is GREAT! Miami Beach is a loud, busy, fun area and the location of the Garden Inn is perfect for when you want to leave the fun, walk a few blocks, and have a quiet place to sleep. You are right across the street from the beach which the hotel is happy to lend you beach towels for so leave those at home unless you want giant ones. The staff overall were pleasant, kind, and are available to help when needed. The expected. The hotel is old so the building and some of its amenities are going to be old. The elevators are small and slow. The rooms are as expected from the pictures on their site, small. You get your bed, desk, closet and decent sized bathroom. The Bad. While the lobby and lower floors seemed fine, getting out of the elevator on the 6th floor, you are hit with a strong mildew odor. Think when you go to like an indoor mini golf course that has water or an old indoor swimming pool, you cant see it but you know its there. In fact, the moisture there must be so unmanageable because there is a wall where the newish wallpaper was bubbling behind it. Getting into the room, no better. Still as strong of a smell. The vents had black gunk, possibly spores that I was able to wipe away. The windows on the exterior had algae/moss growing on them so your otherwise nice view was always tarnished. The television is also a basic tv, no streaming services are available which I am sure is because their internet is also spotty. We brought an iPad and cable to plug into the TV to stream Netflix but was met with buffering so often, we stopped using the wifi and watched basic tv to go to sleep and used our cell provider service for internet. Check out was also a little aggressive. I called the morning of my check out from my phone (since the one in the room didn't work) for a late check out, was told noon (An hour extra). At 11:01, someone knocks on the door to tell us to check out, told her I had a late check out and she asked me 2 more times and asked if I called down so somewhere there was a disconnect. Maybe 20 mins later, a different person asked me if I was checking out more pleasantly and nodded when I said I had a late check out. 10 minutes later, the phone in the room rings but when you go to answer, no one was there, assuming they were also calling about the check out. The hotel was in no way fully booked, maybe half full based on the available room options when checking in. I know y'all need to turn over the rooms but an extra hour in a hotel with many open rooms shouldn't warrant this kind of nagging. Overall, it was a decent stay but that smell, building upkeep, and the aggressiveness of the check-out team really rubbed me the wrong way and I don't know if I would stay again. If I did, I would really want to inspect the room I am put in prior to unpacking. Read less
