I had a rough time at this resort it was pleasant enough with the front desk staff they were friendly and helpful and were always willing to help, my problem came with the room and the security staff. Upon arrival my credit card was held for 100 dollars which is standard practice but was hit with a hefty 168 dollar resort fee, 15 a night plus tax. I was given my room keys and was at first glance ce pleasantly surprised with the room at first glance. Things soon fell apart as I realised 5 of the 8 light bulbs in the room weren't working. The bath plug was snapped off and the dead wildlife in the lamp above my bed turned my stomach. Along with the ferocious constant noise from interstate 4 (I was in block 4) they hot water heater under the sink which has a very loud cooling fan in it seemed too come on at its noisiest self just my head hit the pillow. The noise in the room was unbelievable a trifector of loud!! In room 4404 the noise from i4 was loud and along with the water heater and the very loud air conditioning which stopped with a loud thump and crunch as it reach the preset temperature sure woke me up with a jolt. All the noise means i got next yoo no sleep it was awful! I used the gym every day and another gust holidaying was told to "get out" the gym by an over eager security officer with a power trip and when he did not comply or questioned her she decided to swith the treadmill off at the wall making him stumble. When he protested the danger she put him in she walked off calling him and "ass hole" . Trying to have a conversation with 99 percent of the staff is impossible for English speakers, they do not understand a word of English which was a real problem when asking for towels and enquiring about other information. The gentleman who appears to be the manager at the front desk is a real asset to this resort, he's the reason this doesn't get a 1 star review, he couldn't have been better in my view, however you can't change the poor design of the rooms even if you are a manager so the noise and discomfort is baked into the design of the rooms. The transport too the theme parks is reliable and is paid for using the resort fee so saying its "free" is just not true. The front desk staff are friendly and competent, there's one guy in paticularly he had shoulder length curly hair he was a really great employee who was always willing too help. All in all the hotel ruined my holiday as I just couldn't sleep and the room was falling apart and there was dead insects everywhere. Read less

Very well located on I-drive. It is surrounded by some of the best bars and restaurants (recommend Millers, Ole Red and Outback) Conveniently close to a Walgreens supermarket/drug store, Five Guys, Subway etc. The room was basic but fine. The old motel type construction has been updated with new fittings and new bathrooms. The shower in particular was excellent. The twin queen beds comfy and with enough (4) pillows per bed. We slept well despite noise from the nearby interstate and the very noisy air conditioning unit which wasn’t updated in the refurbishment. It’s the old fashioned under-window motel type of unit which worked well but was noisy. There was a microwave, coffee machine and refrigerator in our room. The latter was so cold it froze everything inside! Not often that happens with hotel fridges but better than being too warm I guess. The only real negative is one thing that others have mentioned before - dirty floors in the rooms. Our feet were black every time we walked on them. It’s as if the hotel removed the out-dated carpet which the cleaners used to vacuum with ease and replaced it with the hard laminate flooring without giving them mops to clean it. The rest of the room was tidied well daily but the floor remained grubby throughout our stay. I actually had to wash my feet again each time after being in the room so that I could put socks on! We didn’t use the park shuttle bus so I can’t comment on that. For flexibility we used Lyft (same as Uber) to get to and from the parks each day which was cheaper than taking the rental car and paying for parking. A typical package holiday hotel. It ticks the boxes required by airlines and travel agents so that’s where the bulk of the guests come from. During our 10 night stay in October, most of the other guests were either from the UK or Ireland. The pools area is pretty nice and we always found a sun lounger available. The pool bar however is over priced and changes more for a beer ($11-$12) than most of the nearby bars and restaurants do ($7-$9), which seems crazy. No wonder most people brought their own drinks down to the pool area. All in all I would still recommend the hotel. It strikes a fair balance for value and I have no real complaints about it overall.
