Rosen Inn Lake Buena Vista

We stayed here 2022 and for some reason the review never posted - overall was a really good experience and looking to go back next year. It is on the cheaper side compared to a lot of the florida and Disney hotels. The rooms were clean and tidy, bit outdated but you get what you pay for. The area is good as there is a few food places and bars just a walk up the road which we used often in the evening and these were enjoyable and easy to access. Was 2 pools which were both nice for a chill day away from the parks. There was also a water splash area for young children if you are bringing them with you which was always busy - they had a small shop in the hotel which we went too daily and was well stocked - also had a games room filled with different video games but we did not go in this - they did offer breakfast at a cost which always seemed busy but we did not do this so cannot review if this was good or not The transport service to the parks was good and helpful, was about a 10 min bus from Disney springs. The shuttle also went to universal parks and Hollywood studios Epcot etc but did not go to animal kingdom or magic kindom so had to get Ubers which were about 10 - 20 dollar depending when you are going ( we went in 2022) so these prices might have changed now! - the shuttles for the parks were quite early in the morning and usually busy if you made the bus. Just returned from a 7 night stay at this lovely hotel, probably our 8th year of staying here. After a request, we were allocated our same room from last year and welcomed back by front desk which was lovely. Lovely clean room on the top floor of the 4000 block, nice view of epcot fireworks. Room was spacious, cleaned everday, ice cold aircon, great shower. We had the breakfast buffet each day, good vale at $35 for 2, huge selection of hot n cold, cereals, toast and of course Mickey waffles. Great reunion with our friend Gill. All the staff were happy, polite and efficient. The grounds are beautiful, the 2 pools are lovely, the smaller one good for the morning, the bigger for afternoon sun. Ideally situated, 10min drive to Disney Springs, 20mins to I-Drive, and easy 45mi s to Cocoa Beach. Only issue I-4 is always busy where the 528 joins. Only slight issue, I asked about late checked as we had an evening flight, lady on front desk initially said not possible, have to vacate by 12. Went back and asked a different member who got us 3pm checkout. So make sure you ask twice if you need it, and it is $56, which as I mentioned last review seems steep. But other than that, fantastic stay in a lovely, clean friendly hotel, thoroughly recommend. Read less

Good and bad point- let’s start with the bad. Rooms desperately need an upgrade, carpet was filthy… our white socks needed throwing away afterwards. Safe was locked on open and couldn’t be reset. Sliding door to bathroom completely come off the wall and was just leant up against the wall. One of the beds were broken on one side so it felt like you would roll out. This is just personal preference, the pillows were far too full so unless you slept on your back you would have a bad neck. Cleaners came and cleaned each day and would turn alarm on for around 6am each morning in the hope that they ‘get a rise out of you’ if you haven’t left a tip!! Looking at other reviews this seems to be a common issue, This did not go down well with me and found it incredibly rude as a British person who always tips the last day by leaving all the dollars we have remaining (usually very healthy tip). Road is noisy yes but I knew the location when booking so it didn’t really bother me too much, the noise of the aircon drowned it out. The pool was shut twice during our trip for some kid pooping in the pool. This isn’t anyone’s fault from the hotel and fair enough to shut off the one running pool area but to not allow anyone to sit on the surrounding loungers and when there is no where else to sit outside in the sun isn’t great when it’s lovely weather. Now let’s get to the good parts- Location is great, lots of restaurants in walking distance and 5 mins from the outlets and target. Only 5 mins to Disney springs in the car and only 25 mins to mco airport. We found we did more simply because everything was close. The beds that weren’t broken were actually really comfortable. No fees to park your car and lots of security around so felt quite safe. Good value, the price is very reasonable. You can’t really expect too much. Only $50 security deposit (some hotels can be $1000’s) Lots of amenities in the rooms such as iron, hairdryer and coffee machine. Overall I probably would stay again, simply if I was on a budget as we literally only sleep at the hotel and occasionally use the pool. For a park filled holiday it’s just a place to rest your head at night. Read less
