Fantastic stay, beautiful location. Special shout out to Sabina, who was fantastic accommodating us at meal times and helping us out with a special dinner on the water bungalow! We recently stayed for a week at Adaaran Club Rannalhi, and can honestly say, were disappointed with our stay for the following reasons: Greetings: There was no-one to greet us at the airport, unlike many of the other resorts, who had a sign up to greet their prospective guests. We had to ask one of people holding the signs where we might find our resort’s liaison person. They were back at their counter waiting for us. Old Overwater Villa: We stayed in an overwater villa, and it was one of the older ones. It had warped floorboards, the airconditioner was dripping, the bathroom door latch was broken, there was a bad sewerage smell coming from the toilet, one of the bedside table doors was barely hanging on to a hinge, the bed was rock hard and the pillows deflated, the ladder leading to the ocean was extremely slippery for the last few steps so it was difficult to get a grip on it when coming back up to the villa. There was also no glass floor despite being advertised and the front door seemed like it was going to break off. We did try telling one of the staff at reception about some of the things, but nothing was done about it, so we had to spend the week doing some repairs so we could still use them. There was lack of lighting along the jetty, especially around the corners, and it was very slippery. It seemed like every 2nd one was not working. Very dangerous. The food was okay but lacked variety, especially when staying for a week. Why orange cordial and not orange juice? Why powdered coffee and not press button coffee at least? I didn’t have a lot of faith that the $7 USD coffee advertised at the bar would taste much better than the one served at the restaurant, and it was ludicrously expensive as well (so were the freshly squeezed juices). The cocktails were lacking in imagination and quality, especially for the all inclusive package. Many of the cocktails were pre-batched and often stirred rather than shaken, despite the cocktail needing to be shaken, such as the Cosmo or the Daiquiri. Sometimes it would be shaken, but most times not. It depended on the bartender. There was often no garnish, which is really part of the cocktail. In essence, the cocktails were either sickly sweet because they didn’t use fresh ingredients or too many poor quality juices, or they tasted like rocket fuel because they were free poured (you never knew how strong the drink was going to be, even if ordering the basic spirits). I am not sure why nip pourers were not used so the alcohol could be accurately measured and to ensure a more palatable drink. Set Seating: I felt strange that I had to stay in the same seat each meal time. We were there for 7 days. It reminded me of school camp. Spa Ladies: I didn’t really like having to be accosted by the spa ladies each morning after breakfast, and sometimes even at Nika’s bar. Staff: With the exception of Shareef and his other helpers on that side, Bibo the entertainment person, the omelette man, and the roving musician; the staff were generally not that friendly or helpful, although the people working the seafood dinner were definitely friendly. Green Tax: We were also charged a day of green tax when we weren’t even there, having arrived at midnight that day. We tried to query this, but the cashier had trouble understanding us and still made us pay it. No Umbrellas: There was no umbrella available for the overwater villas, apparently because of the wind. However, we went to another resort last year and each villa had an umbrella attached to the overwater villa. If it began raining while we were on the island, we would have to grab a couple of towels to make our way back to the overwater villa. Things they did well: The seafood buffet dinner was great value for money, and the atmosphere was very memorable. I also thought that the sign as we took off from the jetty to go back to the Male was a lovely touch. I did also give this feedback to the resort company, but never heard back from them. Read less

Rannalhi It is an amazing place! It is a natural island with turquoise waters. All the stuff is very kind and helpful. The island has many activities to do , like scuba diving, snorkelling and more … Rooms is very clean! Sabina was very joyful and friendly. If you meet Oli at the reception he is the most helpful and kind person I’ve met.

Oli in reception was tremendous and the most kind person i have ever met. And it was always there for us if we had any problem. The restaurant staff was also very smiley and helpful with everything. Moosa and sabina was the happiest people that they bright your day from the start. Thanks to everyone for this happy and beautiful experience! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Small paradise great staff not a lot to do

The staff in the restaurant are absolutely brilliant and accommodating. Unfortunately the bed is rock hard resulting in money spent on massages. Disappointed that not everything is included in AI and not really any snacks only a choice of 2 for an hour a day. Wish more entertainment and information available instead of upselling of things
