I recently had an unforgettable stay at Cinamoon Velifushi, a 5-star hotel that truly lives up to its reputation. Everything was absolutely perfect. The room was clean, beautiful, and well-maintained. The cuisine was impeccable, adhering to high hygiene standards. I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful, positive people at the main restaurant. I would like to highlight the two chefs, whose radiant smiles and joy are contagious. We will miss them dearly, along with their exceptional dishes. Chef Satyam also deserves a special mention for his friendliness and competence. These three treasures are invaluable assets that Cinamoon must keep! During my stay, I was assisted by two reception staff members, Siti and Onali. Their smiles, kindness, and professionalism were outstanding. No matter the issue, they were always there to help me make the best choice. Cinamoon can be proud to have them on their team. Bravo and thank you both! I would also like to commend Samir for his exemplary work in cleaning the room. At the bar and restaurant, I had delightful encounters with very kind servers like Nabeel, Anas, and many others whose names I can’t list all. Thank you for the wonderful moments shared with you! One small area for improvement compared to another island I visited: there is a lack of evening entertainment at the bar. Firstly this is the first time I have ever felt the need to complain about any hotel I have visited. This was a 25th wedding Anniversary trip for myself and my wife which we had looked forward to for a long time First impressions were excellent.But then we noticed the jacuzzi pool we had upgraded to was in a very poor condition and was uncomfortable to sit in. We then had water leaking through our water villa roof when it rained.Our bedding got wet we asked for it to be changed it wasn’t We then had very noisy neighbours who played loud music and flew drones across our private water decking on 4 separate occasions. We encountered a very noisy group of day boat trippers in the bar singing karaoke and monopolising the bar ! We were unable to even get a drink and had to return to our accommodation Not the peaceful romantic experience we had anticipated at all !!! All issues were reported straight away to reception and then to management we were promised they were going to recover our stay by the front of house manger Mr Pradeep we then didn’t hear from him again !! Not one single thing We were actually told by Mr Pradeep that if we complain about other guest then they would start complaining about us !! How insulting we had conducted ourselves impeccablly as always ! My wife actually cried twice on this holiday and not with Joy ! We were moved on the last two days of our vacation after management released my wife had taken her complaints to social media We have been in dispute with our travel agent since our return as we wanted a full refund !! Everything was going smoothly for 4 days until my last night, to celebrate my birthday, at the VAH restaurant in Cinnamon Velifushi. The moment I stepped on the restaurant to ask for my reservation, I was told that the package I have is only for Bed and Breakfast, implying that I couldn’t have made a dinner reservation. I explained that I have made the upgrade to half-board package (breakfast and dinner) when I arrived and asked him to check my account because it has already been paid for. I was taken to my table and when the staff returned, he quickly apologized for the confusion. As soon as I started my meal, another staff came to me telling me that my package is only Bed and Breakfast, again implying that I shouldn’t be having dinner at the restaurant! I was already losing my temper as this was the second time that I was told. I then again explained that I have upgraded my package and I was already cleared by the other staff. He left and I was able to eat in peace for another 10 minutes. Then he came back telling me that the half-board doesn’t include lunch!!! I was so confused and told him that I was well aware. I only came for breakfast and dinner. But he stuck around and kept insisting that I came there for lunch. At this point, I had already lost it. I stared at him and told in his face that I never had lunch at the restaurant! It was quite embarrassing because the people on the next tables were overhearing everything and this staff didn’t want to leave me alone. This staff kept harassing me, while I’m eating!!! I totally lost my appetite and my night was completely ruined. I was furious and stormed out of the restaurant. Two other staff were about to deliver my birthday cake to the table but I was not having it any longer. I went straight to the front desk to settle my bill (laundry and snorkel rental) and told them about the unpleasant and horrible experience I just had. Two restaurant staff came to my door apologizing with my birthday cake in hand. I told them that it I don’t feel celebrating any more and it was not necessary at all. To Cinnamon Velifushi hotel and VAH restaurant, please communicate. You harassed a guest just for a mere lunch??? And if a guest did make a mistake, refrain from doing it in front of other people. At least have the decency to let the guest finish his/her meal then talk in private. Guests settle their bill before leaving anyway, charge it to their room. You are in an island, your guests can’t run away from you — especially not for a $20 meal! Read less

I cannot speak highly enough of this magical place! The resort itself is beautiful, clean and just spectacular. The rooms are comfortable, modern and spacious - we stayed in a sunset villa with jacuzzi. The food is delicious and there is a huge variety at each and every meal time to satisfy all tastes. This has been our second visit to Cinnamon Velifushi and the hotel made a huge fuss of us and spoiled us as we were returning guests - including an extra special private dinner on the beach, free of charge. But what makes this place most special is the staff. They are so friendly, welcoming and cannot do enough for you. It’s difficult to single them out, but a huge thank you in particular to Mubarak, Ali, Nabeel and the friendly female chef (whose name we never got!) for looking after us. This place is magical and we are already looking at booking for the same time next year - we can’t wait to come back! Read less
