Good points - the reef is stunning and is continuous around the island, staff are super friendly without being “in your face” attentive, food was varied, resort was very clean as were the rooms. If you want peeled back good old fashioned service and accept this resort is a little dated (it is fully functional so it’s only aesthetic) then Eriyadu is the place for you. If you want rooms on stilts with swim-up terraces and jacuzzis then Eriyadu won’t give you that. It will give you though a memorable wonderful holiday at a very reasonable price. Would we go back - yes in a heartbeat!! Read less

What a beautiful holiday, from start to finish we can only praise the island in the Maldives, we had boat transfer 50 mins approx. Paradise on a grand scale, we had a lovely room overlooking the beach, golden sands blue warm sea, and very friendly people guests and staff. Bar on the beach was open all day and provided much needed refreshment. Although the room was tired (the environment does not help as lots of wood which does not like water😢), it was spotlessly clean, Imran cleaned every day with a chat and smile, thank-you. The dining experience was very good lots of variety but not like big hotels where you have everything for breakfast the next day! It was a lot smaller but loved it and we had lovely people serving us ensuring we had all we needed, thank-you especially to Anis and Rayhan(I hope we spelt names correctly) you made our holiday even more special, lovely young men working hard to provide a quality service. We would go out on the jetty every evening and see all the fish and sharks swimming around there is seating so you can just soak up the atmosphere. We have never done karaoke but we got into it here what fun we had with amazing people, the entertainment was great. There was a Spa and diving centre all very good and accommodating to all needs. I am not confident in water but managed to do a bit of snorkelling it was great, the hotel provides hour lessons in mornings which people took advantage of and this helped with confidence. I would 100% recommend this Island it’s the original Maldivian one and may not be as upmarket as others, but don’t let that put you off take a holiday here and you won’t be disappointed. We look forward to going again. It is being updated so I hope they don’t loose the beautiful feeling of the Island. Thankyou to everyone who made our holiday so special. Read less

We are just about to leave this amazing island and I can honestly say, I don’t want to go home. The island is small and just perfect. Yes as some of the reviews say, the rooms are dated, however this was not a problem for us as we didn’t spend that much time in there other than to shower and sleep. With that said, it is worth noting that after speaking to management the island is going to have a complete refit, with the addition of over water bungalows, 3 new restaurants and a cocktail bar. They are hoping to have this completed in the next 2 years. We had room 316 which was a beach villa. The location was perfect for us as the beach was calm and beautiful. We found the other side of the island had more of a breeze to it. The food and drinks were excellent. There was plenty of variety. The resort also put on an excellent Halloween night for all the guests. The staff are what makes this island, they cannot do enough for you and they all work so hard to make your stay enjoyable. Special mention to all of the restaurant staff and also the bar staff Deluar, Imam, Abdullah, Rahul and Hirusha. They all work tirelessly and are an asset to this island resort. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a late check out as we have a late night flight, so we could make as much of the day left as possible. Another example of the outstanding customer service here by reception staff. If you are planning on coming here, make sure you bring lots of mosquito spray. Although they fog the island twice a week I was still bitten every day. I have never had this before! Also make sure you bring plenty of sun tan lotion as if you run out, it will cost you a lot of money to buy a bottle at the shop here. This is our first time to the Maldives and we will be back to this resort. It simply is paradise on earth Read less

An excellent stay, utterly breathtaking beaches The resort is small, with just the right amount of guest accommodation so that it maintains an exclusive and uncrowded feel. The room was a little tired and dated but clean, comfortable and well laid out. Likewise the bathroom was in need of bringing up to date a bit but it did not detract from the overall stay. Food is delicious, plentiful and well varied. It is mainly curry based, as would be expected here, but there is always a non curry alternative at every meal. Minor criticism only was that some of the meat dishes, like chicken masala, was all bone-in which made eating a little tricky. Very minor point though The staff all worked tirelessly, so helpful all the time. Bar staff in particular were very quick to learn room numbers and regular orders. (Day 2!) Bar staff Deluar, Imam, Abdullah, Rasu and Hirusha all worked hard throughout the stay. Some great swimming, lots of pictures of fish in their natural environment, saw several sharks, and huge fruit bats. A wonderful and memorable stay. As Arnie would say, “I’ll be back!” Read less

Recently we have returned from Eriyadu so i thought i would take this opportunity to leave a review. The Island...Small and intimate perfect for couples. a beautiful wide, soft sandy beach on the opposite side to the jetty as well as smaller areas of sand dotted about the island in front properties not directly on the main beach area. The snorkelling.....The reef is very easily accessible from the beach or any point of entry really. certain points you are immediately on the reef at others you might need to snorkel a couple of minutes to reach the edge. The currents are not too much of a factor although the jetty side is windier so the water a bit choppier than the main beach side. This is our 3rd island and the snorkelling far exceeds the others visited so far. I am not exaggerating in saying that we saw turtles 12 days of our 14 spent on the island. sometimes multiple times per day. ( tip look into the reef rather than the deeper water off the drop off as for the most part they were in shallower water ). The staff.....Absolutely excellent to a person. Courteous and helpful throughout, i wont name individuals as everybody was at the same level. The Accommodation.... If you have read any other reviews you will already know the villas are dated. A little tired looking yes and would a lick of paint go amiss no. What they are though cleaned twice a day and about 5 seconds from the beach so what more do you need? Also the Island now has new owners and is currently in the first throes of a renovation plan. The food..... Not a la carte but plentiful and varied . I would recommend that you went on all inclusive plus as it widens the drink menu availability. In summary.... if you want fantastic snorkelling , a beautiful beach, a relaxed holiday where you do not need to wear shoes, pleasant friendly staff then look no further. If you want luxurious villas and a la carte dining then don't.......well at least until the renovation is completed !! Andy B Read less
