When it comes to dining, you’ve several options to choose from, including the award-winning White Orchid for special occasions, the Ocean Grill which is situated right by the water’s edge, or The Cellar which is located two and a half metres below sea level and offers an extensive selection of fine wines from all over the world. Where is it

On a 35-acre tropical island situation on the northern tip of the stunning Haa Alif Atoll in the Maldives. On arrival, you will be met and escorted to a reserved area where you can enjoy complimentary refreshments, whilst waiting for your flight. Transfer from Malé International Airport: 50 minute domestic charter flight, followed by a 10 minute speedboat transfer.

84 bungalows, villas and suites. All with air-conditioning, private wooden deck with outdoor seating, flat-screen TV, telephone, complimentary WiFi Internet access, complimentary daily fruit and water, mini fridge, coffee maker, tea-making facilities, safe, hairdryer, iron and board, bathrobes and slippers. Beach Bungalows with plunge pool, open-air bathroom, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child.

Half Board (Dine Around): includes breakfast and lunch or dinner in operational outlets. Three 3-course menu for dinner or two-course lunch including water (JA Branded Water). Three courses are defined as one starter, one main course, and one dessert per guest.

Full Board (Dine Around): includes breakfast, lunch and dinner in operational outlets. Two 2-course lunch and three 3-course dinner, including water (JA Branded Water). Three courses are defined as one starter, one main course, and one dessert per paying guest.

All Inclusive (Dine Around): includes daily breakfast, 2-course lunch and 3-course dinner in designated operational outlets (3-courses are defined as one starter, one main course and one dessert per paying guest). A wide selection of beverages including wines, spirits, beers, cocktails, soft drinks, bottled juices and JA-branded drinking water available in operational venues during operational hours. The mini-bar will be replenished once per day. Some surcharges may apply for premium item or premium events. Beverage are available during operating hours of restaurants and bars.

Room upgrades

Sunrise Water Villas allow views of the colourful dawn breaking and views of the marine life through the glass floor panel, with private infinity pool, partially open-air bathroom and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Sunset Water Villas with private pool and views to the west and the sun setting into the sea, with glass floor panel, private infinity pool, partially open-air bathroom and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

One Bedroom Beach Suites with private infinity pool, large living room with DVD player, and separate en-suite bedroom, open-air bathroom, private sundeck and beach cabana with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Two Bedroom Grand Water Suite with private infinity pool, master en-suite bedroom with 1 king-size bed, and additional twin bedroom, sleeping maximum 5 adults.

Two Bedroom Royal Island Suites are on two storeys, with private pool, sauna, steam room and spa pavilion and treatment area, dining and living area, master en-suite bedroom with one king-size bed, and additional twin bedroom, sleeping maximum 6 adults or 4 adults and 2 children.

7 restaurants and bars: Kakuni (global cuisines, all-day dining), White Orchid & Teppanyaki (Asian fusion cuisine), Ocean Grill (meat and seafood, open for dinner), Andiamo Bistro (pizzas, pasta and salads by the main pool, open for lunch and dinner), Infinity Pool Bar (drinks and light snacks by the infinity pool), Veli Bar. Location. Location. Location. I chose this place because it was a far from Male as I could get. I was not disappointed. This resort took first place a few years ago, and there’s a good reason - pristine beaches and water. We stayed in three resorts on our trip, and this one was by far the best, including best food.

Our stunning, spacious over water villa with private infinity pool was incredible, very luxurious with everything you needed. Good privacy and we loved the glass bottom lounge and ability to snorkel around the coral directly from our villa and see the incredible sealife there. The staff and service were also incredible, friendly, welcoming staff who couldn't do enough for you. Amazing choice of restaurants in the all-inclusive dine around option, with fabulous, fresh food. Great public areas, including the infinity pool and more decorative garden pool. I loved that we had bikes with our villas to in order to cycle around the small island too, though also loved that we could walk around by barefoot too. Having an allocated host to oversee our whole stay was a really nice touch and made the whole trip seamless and relaxing. Couldn't fault anything and we'd come back in a heartbeat. Thank you! Fantastic holiday, just what we had hoped for. Beautiful location, fantastic service. Our sunset watervilla was amazing. The staff were all incredible and a special thanks to our villa host Nishan and Suhaad and Shaamd who looked after us at the restaurant. We hope we are able to return soon.

We were looking for "barefoot luxury" and JA Manafaru absolutely delivered here. We had the most amazing ten days here, with the most perfect weather, with spectacular staff, fabulous food and our beach villa can only be described as perfect in every way. Let me quantify this .. We are in our 50s, well travelled, with high expectations, with a real love for great food and beautiful places, but we really wanted somewhere where we didn't have to get dressed up for dinner ( unless we wanted to!!!) or be worried about how we looked around the pool or the island!! Relaxed, paradise island vibe with a hint of robinson crusoe island, but with an anmazing chef and someone to clean the camp!! The staff here are the kindest, friendliest and most efficient and professional we have experienced anywhere ever before. Absolutely every detail was taken care of and they simply went above and beyond every day in every way. They listened and remembered and made us feel incredibly welcome and special throughout our stay. Nishan was our Thakuru and he was exceptional .. even finding a way for us to watch the rugby and finding me a pair of tweezers!!! Bless him, simply the best! The food was fabulous, nothing like your bare feet in the sand whilst eating the freshest, local fish cooked to perfection. There is a good variety too. We had a special night in The Cellar, which was exceptional and highly recommended, even though it does incur a charge above the all inclusive rate. Well worth it!! We absolutely loved our time here, perfect relaxation for us. We are hoping to bring our grown up family for a special trip at the same time next year. We had the most amazing time at JA Manafaru! From the moment we arrived, everyone was so warm and welcoming and we were immediately treated like family. Our Thakaru, Ghani, was amazing and helped us with everything from scheduling massages to making dinner reservations and so much more. We had a commitment ceremony there and everyone came together to make sure everything went perfect and we felt so special. I can’t say enough good things about the amazing staff. On top of that, JA Manafaru is the most beautiful place I have ever been to hands down. The tropical landscaping and clear blue water look straight from a movie! There are so many staff that made us feel special and felt went above and beyond. Among some are Abdho Ghani, Imran, Martina, Ashraf, Rosa, Yatte, Raphael, Kachey, Vipan, Suhaadh, Shehan and the amazing photographer Nazim. They all deserve special recognition, they were so amazing for our entire 10 day stay. Not only did they remember our names, they remembered our villa number, and our preferred drinks and food choices as well. The free floating breakfast after our ceremony was a wonderful surprise, also the amazing bed decorations upon arrival, departure and after our ceremony were a beautiful touch. We mentioned wanting to try a coconut drink and miraculously 2 appeared in our room the following day (thanks Martina and Ghani) The food was some of the best we’ve ever had! The breakfast was so delicious every day at Kakuni, so many fresh juices and the staff are happy to make you a delicious coffee. Andiamo was our favorite lunch spot (I love Italian food) and had some amazing drinks and views. We loved White Orchid and Ocean Grill for dinner, the Cape Grimm steaks were some of the tenderest I have ever had. And of course the seafood was all incredibly fresh and delicious.
