Jumeirah Maldives Olhahali Island

We stayed at Jumeirah Maldives in October when the forecast predicted rainy weather, but it turned out to be incredible! Only rained one day out of four, and honestly, it didn’t bother us at all. On the contrary, it was a great escape from the heat of Dubai. The island is magnificent; it's pure paradise! The level of luxury and personalized service is outstanding. You feel recognized everywhere; they know all your preferences. Hospitality at its highest level. It was our first anniversary, and the entire team went out of their way to celebrate us, surprising us with so many thoughtful gestures, led by our villa host, the number one, Thariq. I don’t want to forget anyone, but from housekeeping Vaambe to the breakfast staff Anita and Mazin, and in the other restaurants Ibbe, Akif, Makuda, Luha, Sinaan, they know everything and are always ready to help. They have a very efficient and quick team. I also want to mention Nuam from the ice cream shop! Thank you so much for making our stay so special. We stayed in the Jumeirah in September 2024 for four nights it’s considered low season in Maldives. We are loyal to Jumeirah its one of our best hotels we stay in Dubai and in London. Our room type was the two bedroom water villa with private pool, half board breakfast and dinner, our family was 6 person, 2 adults,2 teenagers and 2 girls 7 and 9 years old. The resort was AMAZING the architecture, the design and the furniture, the amenities all modern and clean and excellent quality as usual with Jumeirah. The food was delicious all the restaurants we dined in were so good. The pool & the beach were amazing. Would I go again to Jumeirah Maldives even though it’s my best resort and hotel chain, No I won’t. Why? I already paid an unexceptionable amount of money during the reservation. It is a very expensive luxury resort and i paid in advance. why do i need to pay more?! This is not the first time for us in maldives we know what other resorts offer, we didn’t expect that coming. The issues we faced: 1- The half board doesn’t include the drinks with the meals including the regular Jumeirah water we had to pay 4$ for each bottle usually resorts provide soft drinks and water included with the half board and other drinks are chargeable. 2- The water sports activities are so expensive it reached around 1000$ +tax for all the family to ride the Sofa water sport for 10min. Also the kids are charged the same as the adults!? Even though my young daughter was scared and got off the ride with no refund. 3- The villa had an amazing roof top in order to use it for a cinema night we had to pay 1000$ +tax. 4- The kids club, the first day we arrived there were no kids yet only my two daughters and they offered them a chargeable activity instead of any other free activities, It had nice water plash playground and most of the activities are arts and crafts not much movement for the kids not much activities by the beach or the pool like other resorts and also no regular play ground with slides or swings in the resort, my kids were bored they only went twice and refused to go again, most of the fun activities are chargeable starting from 35$ each child. 5-They are marketing a “free photo shoot session with one printable photo”, but they don’t say it clearly that if you want 30 photos you have to pay 500$ and if you wanted all of your photos you have to pay 900$! With no basic photoshop like clothes malfunction or fixing hair locks flying. And just a note go with male photographer the female was not experienced most of our photos wasn’t nice. 6- They did an Indian dinner night which is not included in our half board if we want the Indian set menu we had to pay for each 40$. They don’t have free themed family nights activities like white color party night or themed buffet nights with decorations, a fire show or any other family activity just for fun, with no charge like other resorts. 7-Any fun activity you have to pay extra same price for adult and child, the only free activities are the sun rise yoga which the time doesn’t suit us i requested a sunset yoga which is a more suitable time for us but they said its 60$ each and when finally found a free activity “the movie night at shimmers restaurant roof top” got canceled because of the rainy weather . 8- It was frustrating to have fun as a family you must pay extra, we talked to the manager about our concerns the only thing he did was cancel the regular water from the bill, and he claimed that this is how it works in all resorts since he is an experienced manager with 25 years in maldives resorts, he didn’t even try to satisfy us in any way.
