Where is it

Situated on Meedhuffushi Island in the South Nilandhe Atoll. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 35 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

Beach Villas with Pool are located on the beach with a private pool, swinging sofa on the beach, outdoor shower, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.

Reef Villas are overwater villas featuring with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Sunset Reef Villas are the same as above, facing in the direction of the sunset.

Aqua Villas with Pool are overwater villas featuring a private pool and overwater hammock, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Grand Water Villas with Pool feature a private infinity edge swimming pool on an oversized sun deck, ocean views and steps down to the lagoon. With 1 king-size bed, separate lounge area and a bathroom with separate shower, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Two Bedroom Water Villa with Pool - situated at the end of the overwater jetty, features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large living room with dining area. Plus outside features a private pool, daybed, loungers and dining table.

We’ve recently returned from a 2 week AI holiday at Vilu Reef. We’ve been to the Maldives 6 times, a different island each time, so can provide an informative review for those thinking about booking up to go here. We flew direct with BA….not the best airline but that’s another review. Upon arrival at Male it was a smooth transfer over to the seaplane terminal and the Sun Siyam lounge. There’s an app you can use to check in to the resort, and also for booking restaurants and excursions. The seaplane took about 40 minutes. We received a lovely welcome onto the island. Reema took us to our room and was our contact throughout our stay. We stayed in a deluxe beach villa (139) on the sunrise side of the island. The room was great and we loved the dressing room area and outside bathroom. Mathi looked after us and kept our room spotless. He was a lovely lad and worked so hard. We were all inclusive, which included the Aqua buffet, Well Done and Spice. The food was amazing in all restaurants. Well Done and Spice were a la carte and the quality was outstanding. Spice is an Indian in the evenings and it was the best Indian food ever! And at lunch it is an Italian…again, amazing food. The dine around options are the best we’ve experienced in the Maldives. Branded drinks too, including wine, cocktails, spirits etc. The island itself is beautiful. Lots of vegetation and flowers. The gardening staff keep it looking lovely. The house reef is great, we saw turtles, lots of reef fish, baby sharks and a couple of clown fish near our villa. Snorkelling is highly recommended. The equipment is free from the water sports centre. We took a kayak out for free too. There were a lot of young children on the island when we were there. Which sometimes spoilt the peacefulness for us. I wouldn’t recommend the Maldives for young children as there’s not much for them to do. There is a kids club but we never saw it open. All the staff were great, the hosts at Aqua and Nautilus but especially Vijay, Ayman and Poonam (the best ice cream!) at Aqua, Nisha and Ranjith at the Nautilus bar, Dilshad at Well Done and Digajan at Spice. They went over and above to make our stay memorable. Always wanted a chat and we loved it! Sorry we can’t get everyone’s names, but thanks to you all! Overall, we would definitely recommend Vilu Reef. It’s a beautiful island with amazing rooms and food. The only negatives for us were the amount of young kids, the close proximity of a local island (woken up at 5am every morning by their PA system) and a noisy cockerel near our room! Read less

The hoast so friendly and helpful! Helpt us with everything, bookings and all we could ask for. When we had troubles she got us help immedietley. Also when i got sick She fixed a doctor and late checkout! It was such a good service from det everyone, they helpt us out so much. Lovely island and resort. Nice food! Paradise 🌸

Really lovely place! Peaceful and beautiful. The staff is very friendly and polite, especially I want to mention our cleaner Rakesh, who was absolutely lovely and helpful. Also our host Niyaaf did everything to ensure that we had a dream vacation! The snorkeling trip was amazing!
