The hotel

Anyone can stay on a beach in Mauritius — but the prime location of Radisson Blu Azuri Resort & Spa will make your stay that extra bit special. Set on a sweep of lagoon-washed sand, the resort is also framed by preserved mangroves. In the marine village of Azuri, you get to immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan village life and experience the beach and island activities all rolled into one. Passionate about design and attention to detail, the resort offers contemporary interiors, such as an inviting lobby with iconic shell chandeliers, oversized headboards in spacious guest rooms and many more. Guests always stay connected with complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel, including the beach. Of course some things reflect the ‘pure beach retreat’, like your balcony or terrace; the ocean and infinity pool option among its four restaurants and bars; and the al fresco activities like water sports and kayak safaris. Guests have also access to activities and restaurants (with credit) at the adults-only sister hotel Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette Resort & Spa with the 'Blu Passport Concept' — a unique offering full hotel interchangeability with complimentary inter hotel transfer to enhance your holiday.

The breakfast spread was good, we liked the other two restaurants as well with the resort. Note : if you are availing any of the services or activities of the resort, book them in advance including the restaurant tables. The resort if away from any hustle bustle, would recommend having self driven vehicle at your disposal to venture out and explore the unexplored in Mauritius. Read less

Fantastic, the room beach front with private swimming pool is just amazing. The staff has been really nice with us and very kind to do what we requested. The restaurant is super and food is good quality. Honestly we had a very good time at this hotel and we are planning to comeback in a couple of months.

The towels were not replenished in the morning and neither were tea and toilet essentials. No proper reason for the above were offered despite complaining to the duty manager, except an assurance that the same will be closely.monitored for my rest of the stay. I am still staying and will update how it goes for the rest of the stay. A day earlier, I was surprised to see. Uncleaned spoons in my tea area and I asked to be spoken with the housekeeping supervisor. Is it a fallout of the same, I really got no answers. Even at breakfast, I was surprised that when we asked for 2 bananas, we were offered only one saying it is only one that can be given. Ofcourse some PPL in breakfast Buffett were extremely nice and helpful. Read less

Having paid a lot of money for this trip we went with really high expectations having stayed in 5* hotels in Dubai and Mexico recently. I'd rate the standard of this hotel a high 3* or low 4*. It wasn't our choice of hotel, we were attending a wedding. On arrival we were greeted at reception by a friendly, informative person who showed us around, took us to the restaurant for lunch while our room was being prepared.l and he came & found us when it was ready. In entering the room, first impressions was its a little tired but light and spacious. It just didn't have a 5* feel to it. Tired as in...water damaged unit below the tv, toilet seat that doesn't fit the toilet bowel, discoloured yellow stained bath, mould at the base of the sinks & behind the sinks which a good clean with bleach would fix. As our trip went on the mini bar was replenished but mould was accumulating within the fridge which was never cleaned or if it was it grew back daily. Patio furniture was white plastic rattan with a couple of holes melted in it and the garden part of the balcony was in need of some flowers. Bed lined often had tears or holes in it and the pillow cases had a dirty discolour to them as if they were very old. The beds were very comfortable though. It seems a little odd & unnecessary for a 5* hotel that even when on All Inclusive board basis that coffee pods in the room are chargeable but you can drink bottles of coke//beer etc free from the mini bar. We were charged £45 for the coffee pods we used over 10 days. Typically 1 coffee each morning for 2 people. Our friends booked the ocean plunge room and their room was definitely 5* standard. Much newer furnishing etc. The pool has very limited sun beds around it so if you have children to supervise around the pool there is a high chance you won't get a lounger so be aware of this. You may end up on the beach unless you get up early. The cushions on the loungers are very dirty/mouldy and many are burst with the foam coming out. They are left out in the rain which is probably why. Once your towel is on it, it feels less gross! The waiters at the bar and restaurant are all very friendly & attentive. Sahil was a great waiter and hard working guy, always busy and served us very well during our entire stay along with his colleagues. The food: 1 main buffet restaurant. 1 steak restaurant, 1 cafe and the golf course restaurant. We visited the steak restaurant once. 4 of us. 3 of our meals arrive the 4 persons didn't. It was only a pizza. We chased this up several times and it eventually arrived once the rest of us had finished our food. If we'd have waited out food would have been cold. Not a great service especially for the person watching us eat or for them being the only person eating after a long wait. The buffet restaurant served great quality food. Always a couple of vegetarian options, and a couple of meat/fish options. These differed daily but the side dishes remained the same. Rice, potatoes, veg. Although limited and repetitive we still enjoyed the food here. I'm a bit of a clean freak and I noticed the toilets were always very clean around pool/restaurant but I think the restaurant staff could do a better job of cleaning the tables & placemats. These often felt/looked a little grubby. Would I stay again? No Is it 5* standard? No Are the staff amazing? YES, every one of them. Is the pool area nice/adequate? Not really Radisson need to spend some money at this hotel to bring it up to standard. I wish I'd taken photos. Read less
