The hotel

Those torn between ‘contemporary chic’ and ‘utterly authentic’ needn’t choose – after a radical revamp, Tropical Attitude promises both. All bold geometric design and luxe natural touches, this adults-only retreat gives grownups that boutique hotel feel and a genuine Mauritian experience. It starts with its location – facing a turquoise lagoon, just a free shuttle ride from the beautiful beaches at Ile aux Cerfs, it’s near the traditional fishing village of Trou d’Eau Douce. And it continues with its attitude – with real Mauritius found everywhere from its spa treatments to its experiences, including cookery lessons, a weekly ‘Made in Mauritius’ market, and home-cooked dinners at local families’ homes. Dining at Tropical Attitude is equally authentic, whether you’re at its intimate Kot Nou restaurant (which seats just 20 guests), tucking into Mauritian street food from TABA-j, or taking one of its picnic baskets over to Ile aux Cerfs. Where is it

On a lagoon near the fishing village of Trou d’Eau Douce, opposite beautiful Ile aux Cerfs, with a free shuttle running to the island for swimming and sunbathing. It is also 15 minutes’ drive from Belle Mare, and an hour’s drive from the capital, Port Louis. Transfer time from Mauritius International Airport: Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes (Please note that if taking a seat in coach this may be longer depending on how many hotel stops are en route).

58 rooms and 11 villas, decorated in Creole style. All sea-facing with private furnished balcony or terrace, air-conditioning, TV, WiFi, telephone, mini-bar, safe, hairdryer, and complimentary WiFi access.

Couple Seafront Rooms offer views of Trou d'Eau Douce lagoon and Île aux Cerfs Island, with 1 double bed, or 2 twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Please note: Mini bar is initially empty and can be filled from a selection of coffee, tea, snacks, and cold drinks from Laboutik.

Couple Deluxe Seafront Rooms are located on the ground floor with views of Trou d'Eau Douce lagoon and Île aux Cerfs Island, and are larger in size, with either 1 double bed or 2 twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Villas are approximately 100 sq m and are located on the ground floor with a private swimming pool and garden with hammock, bathrobes and slippers, and either 1 double bed or 2 twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Bor Lamer (local and international cuisine, open for buffet breakfast, buffet or à la carte lunch and special theme buffet or table d’hote dinner). Kot Nou (traditional Mauritian cuisine, open for dinner 4 days a week). Taba-J (serving street food for lunch, as well as afternoon snacks). Moonrise (open-air lounge area with lobster menu on request*). Bar Sea-U. Teabaz (Tea bar).  

Evening entertainment 4 times a week, including sega show.

I felt the love and the warmth immediately when i stepped into the Hotel. Staff is so welcoming and the service was outstanding. Me and my wife spent our honeymoon here. This hotel is amazing. The rooms have their own charm. The food was really good, especially the Bol Lamer restaurant and the burger and grilled fish for dinner. Me and my wife spent our honeymoon here. This hotel is amazing. The rooms have their own charm. The food was really good, especially the Bol Lamer restaurant and the burger and grilled fish for dinner. For breakfast I recommend the omelette with all the additions and hot sauce from the counter in the middle. The second restaurant Kot Nou also delighted us with typical ocean food and its romantic atmosphere. Food from Taba-J was a great addition where you could eat something light or sweet. The Sea-U bar was a place where you could get coffee, tea, great drinks, beer and other alcohols, as well as non-alcoholic drinks. The service was incredibly nice. The ladies and gentlemen from the reception helped at every step. When the travel agency did not give us the appropriate documents to book a room, the ladies and gentlemen from the reception desk solved the problem themselves, but when our tour driver was late, the lady asked for the number of the transport company and on our behalf, she asked about everything and after 5 minutes the driver was already there . It is impossible to mention everyone who was nice and helpful to us: the maid Nazimah, the chef Vikash, the waiter Sulin, the bartender Yuvan and a young waiter with glasses and a light beard named Adesh (I don't know if that was the name on the plate pinned to his shirt) these are just a few names that we managed to remember but literally everyone was nice and helpful. The hotel has many attractions such as a swimming pool, a ping-pong table, a small gym, shelves with books, a balcony with loungers and a view of either the swimming pool or the ocean. Great idea with ocean-side windows that protect us from the wind. Every evening the hotel organized some music or dance shows. Once a day you could sail to the island of Ile aux cerfs which has long beaches with incredibly clear waters. There are many attractions there, such as diving, swimming with dolphins, floating on a parachute or renting a catamaran. If you sail to the island, you receive a basket with food that you chose from the available menu the day before. We want to thank literally everyone who works there. This holiday was awesome! The location is very nice. The whole team is great 🤩. The team was very friendly, helped us finding activities, was always kind and worked hard for our family. Every wish was fulfilled. The team works with the heart. We will come back to this hotel a this team 🙏

It is the best Hotel I have ever been! All people are there working, so lovly! The kitchen is very, very good! The whole Team did all day a realy good Job! Everyone in the Hotel did it like that!! With all ther hearts!!! Everyone was so nice! I love it! And we will surly come back!❤️
