Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem

Virgin rating

The hotel

As well as the superb service, snazzy décor and tasteful touches you’d expect from a Waldorf Astoria, you may just agree that this hotel tops them all. It’s historic and classy. It’s timeless and relaxed. And even though you may be keen to explore the Old City and all that’s happening just outside, why not grab a fresh coffee first and take in its loveliness from the glass-roofed atrium. If you’re feeling peckish, the food is inspired, from huge breakfast buffets to tasty afternoon teas. In summer, head up to the leafy rooftop garden for al fresco tapas – the views from up here are something else.

I’ve came to this hotel after being in another hotel one day before and because this hotel cost twice ,my expectations were high and I was disappointed. The good things are:balcony, very nice breakfast and the fact they left me cakes and champagne in the room because I’ve told it’s my birthday and also central location But the sauna is with very low temperature, somebody took our robe from chair while we were 3 min in sauna, there is no cold water in shower and it is not written that tax will be added to the sum paid(another one hundred dollars)I have found later that tax could be added in small letters but usually you see the whole amount when ordering a room so for me the cost benefit value was low,I have never stayed night in 700 dollars and thought it will be something special but it is not. I stayed here while I was visiting the Old City. Perfect location to walk to the Jaffa Gate and visit the historical biblical sites: Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Western Wall etc. there is a mall type walking street, Mamilla St that has plenty of shopping and dining. The hotel has two restaurants, a spa and the room was clean and comfortable.

During my check-in, Alexi from the front desk did not stop searching until he found the perfect room. And thanks to Rami, Assem, Siham, Karim from the front office. Amazing how Avner, the General Manager and Ameer, the Director of Operations don’t hide in their offices. Rather, they can both be easily found in the hotel lobby or dining room always ready to assist the hotel guests in any way possible. Maamoon, the outstanding Maitre d’hotel is a treasure. Maamoon is available from early morning until late at night working hard to please the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem guests. And he has a great staff, including the waiter Hanna who goes above and beyond. And Sumaya who remembered exactly where we like to sit and our special food requests. And Wissam, the master of drinks who just introduced new yummy smoothies (containing passion fruit) for breakfast. Maxim and Mani were happy to assist with custom requests. No doubt we will return very soon, as the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem feels like our second home. Read less
