Hilton Los Angeles Universal City

The hotel

A Hollywood hangout with noteworthy neighbours, this LA bolthole’s just a block from the theme park heaven of Universal Studios, and just a subway trip from the star-studded sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard. That hasn’t stopped Hilton Los Angeles Universal City coming up with a few extra treats of its own though – our favourite being FIVE on the Hill, where you can enjoy signature dishes and freshly-curated cocktails with Hollywood Hills in the background. Most make a beeline straight for Universal Studios – and, despite it being just around the corner, there’s a complimentary shuttle to save you walking (great for hot days!). And, while you’re there, you can also take in a movie, grab cocktails or craft beers, hit big-name shops, and dine at celeb-chef eateries in the neon lustre of Universal CityWalk.

I think this place definitely needs to refurb the rooms. While the lobby and outdoor areas are very nice and well maintained, the rooms were not up to standards. They had an odor and mustiness to them. I would not stay again unless the rooms were renovated.

The hotel has a shuttle to universal ( the shuttle drops you at Universal City Walk it is a few minutes walk to park) The park is only about 6 minute walk from hotel to front of Universal Studios. We stayed in a King room with sofa bed. Bed was comfortable. Pool and gym were great. We had a great stay at this hotel, if you want to be close to Universal this hotel is a great choice. The views from our room were fabulous . My only complaint is that when the sofa bed was pulled out it made the room a bit awkward. Read less

We had a great stay during our conference and honestly it was all because of Michelle Wong and her excellent and unmatched hospitality. We had extended our stay and she made the entire checkout/ checkin process so easy. We had different encounters with different staff prior and it was nothing compared to how Michelle took care of us.

Chose this Hotel because it was the closet to universal studios for the Halloween event. There were not many rooms available due to the event. I was afraid service would be low due to the large amount of guests. However, I was wrong. Staff was very polite and were very busy. Even tho front desk staff was busy they greeted me and assured they would help me at their soonest convenience. My room was very clean and I could tell the bathroom tub was freshly cleaned prior to my entry because it had a cleaning product smell. In the hurrying of me packing I forgot toothpaste. In the hotel there was a sign that said “forget anything call us.” I called and within 10 minutes. I brand new toothpaste was at my hotel door. I really appreciated the hospitality. Will definitely book again. Read less
