Escape to the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach — this retreat sits next to the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve and is ideal for a bit of walking, cycling or nature viewing. You'll be welcomed by 26-acres of lush landscaping, before the newly renovated lobby and bar area lure you in with a calm, coastal California chic theme. Directly off the Newporter Lounge, is a comfortable patio with a firewall, hanging lights and magnificent views of the bay — and those views carry through to many of the guest rooms. Take your pick from three beautiful outdoor pools: chill at the adults-only 'Indulge' pool and find a restful spot at the 'Serenity' pool, or have fun with the kids at the 'Oasis' pool. Whether your passion is shopping, dining, boating, or performing arts, you’ll find it close by. Hit the beach, take to the water on Newport Bay, or wander the shops at Balboa Island and Fashion Island. Disneyland, the Aquarium of the Pacific and Laguna Beach are just a little further away.

Best hotel staff ever!

The staff here are some of the most excellent, kind, and helpful hotel staff that I've ever encountered! They met requests with speed and efficiency! And they stopped to help me find my missing phone after I'd checked out. I was really touched by the level of care and compassion shown by the staff.

I have not stayed here and probably over 10 years. It was such a great experience. The outside patio with the fire was so nice. The hamburger could’ve been one of the best hotel hamburgers I’ve ever had. They told me it would be good and it was absolutely delicious. The rooms are spacious. The balcony was so nice. The hamburger could’ve been one of the best hotel hamburgers I’ve ever had. They told me it would be good and it was absolutely delicious. The rooms are spacious. The balcony was so nice. I love that. There’s a mini fridge in the room, I will definitely be back and it’s perfect for a guy like me that’s afraid of elevators because there’s not a lot of floors and you can just take the stairs. The place was super clean thank you thank you thank you.

Should have been better.

Check-in staff was disorganized to say the least. It took 20 minutes and lobby not very busy.
Golf course was run down. Quality should have be much better as it's not high traffic usage for a 3-star hotel.
House keep was good. Rooms clean. Met needs.
Location is good are and accessible in any direction.

My family came out to Newport for my parents wedding anniversary and we were looking forward to a relaxing weekend. At check in, I was happy to hear we were upgraded to balcony view of the golf course. Lo and behold, Sunday morning before 7am, we are awoken by constant barrage of loud screaming and shouting. I look outside and there is a kickball game right outside our room with a group of about 50 people. We called reception to let them know about the situation since we were trying to sleep. Apparently they were hotel guests from a conference or something. We ended up having to call them twice and nothing changed so we just ended up leaving the room. On top of dealing with all the ants in our room, this is by far the worst Hyatt stay I’ve had as a long time WOH member. Save your money and book elsewhere!

Also had to hike from self-parking to my motel room. Yes motel room, why did i say motel? Because its a totally different section from the actual resort. the motel area doesnt even have an elevator for me to use to get to the 2nd floor. Any other inn or motel would atleast have that.
