The hotel

Bringing that island feel to the Californian desert city, Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs is the first of the famous chain on the West Coast so you can enjoy the relaxed and colourful vibe as part of your US road trip, or for a chance to chill out by the pool with a cocktail in hand. With a calendar of activities including poolside games, movie nights and live DJ’s, this large resort caters for all ages. There’s two pools to relax by, or visit the spa for an array of treatments that will have you feeling like you’re on a secluded island somewhere! You’re just moments from the shopping and golf that Palm Springs is famous for, and parking is included in the resort fee. You don’t need to leave the resort really though – you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to food. Enjoy a steak at JWB Grill, quasedillas by the pool, or grab a takeaway pizza and enjoy it on your balcony when you book a Deluxe Room. If you’ve visited a Margaritaville before you’ll know they’re famous for the ‘5 o’clock somewhere’ bar and this place is no different. It’s the staple of any Margaritaville experience.

Based off the pictures and the price we were expecting a much higher quality resort. We were disappointed. The buildings and rooms were run down. Odd smell in the hallways. Everything is run down but covered over with a new coat of paint. Bathroom fan did not work, room keys did not work, TV was old. Customer service at the front desk was horrible. So was the service in the coffee shop. If you are expecting a quality professional resort because of the price, be prepared to be disappointed. The main pool area and the restaurant were decent. Employees in these areas were friendly. This is why I gave the resort 2 stars instead of 1. Read less

This hotel needs millions of dollars in improvement after it was Margarita Ville. Terrible. Room furniture chipped phone crushed in so you can't call the front desk. Bathroom smells and has stains, let's just say. This property could be a gem, but this gem needs 6 months of polishing and millions of dollars. Restaurants/Bars empty. Front desk… Read more

Now the space: rooms are fine, but we lacked hot water one day, air conditioning went out the next. No automatic refills on water or coffee in room (altho you can ask for it). There is currently an outside vendor chain saw-ing a tree directly outside my window (8 am), they ran out of supplies for restaurant and bar, often bar spaces have no one working they are understaffed. Spa on site same: great massage! One of the best! but hot tubs and steam room and credit card machines all out of order. Just really really not worth the price. I feel for the overworked staff who truly do their best to make things work. Read less

The room had minimum comfort: only one drawer and a closet in the bathroom to store clothes. No table, no desk, one armchair. But worst of all, the room overlooked industrial HVAC systems that ran all night long and made a lot of noise. There was no attempt from the staff to find a quieter room. But worst of all, the room overlooked industrial HVAC systems that ran all night long and made a lot of noise. There was no attempt from the staff to find a quieter room. I sent a text message and went to the front desk but couldn't even get an answer to my request. the third time, I was told the hotel was full. In the meantime I am receiving all these messages from the new owner of the place, the IHG group, inviting me to test their other properties. I think I already had enough with the one in Palm Springs! Read less
