The hotel

Tenaya Lodge’s setting takes some beating — bordering the Sierra National Forest and set on 75 stunning acres, it’s surrounded by nature. The hotel has plenty of activities, including a choice of trails and a guided walk to a hidden waterfall. Grab your hiking boots, or maybe a mountain bike, and head out to explore. At the end of the day, take a dip in the outdoor pool, get a s’mores kit and sit around the outdoor fire pits, or grab your torch and head out on a night hike. After all that activity, you’re likely to sleep well.

There was limited parking near our room when we arrived back to the hotel after 7pm so we had to park in overflow lots. Read less

THE nicest staff, pretty resort with lots to do on site, proximity to the best national park in the US. It’s expensive but if you can fit it into your budget I doubt you’ll be disappointed! I spent a night here after a super long hike/climb in the park. The rain shower and amazingly comfy beds came in clutch. Will be back for sure.

Our family had a great vacation and enjoyed our first visit to Yosemite. The location and activities offered at Tenaya were great and we especially enjoyed the Summer Tour that we booked through the hotel. Our kids aged 9 and 12 especially enjoyed the pool and nightly s'mores.

Overall, really enjoyed staying in the new rooms with our dog. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming with our dog, which really made the experience great for us. The only feedback I have is to improve the dining options and free activities considering there is a $35 daily resort fee on top of everything. There seemed to only be one real dining option: Jackalopes. Pizza is secondary option that wasn’t part of the main lodge. Ideally, if there were more dining options that were pet friendly with other types of food (menu at Jackalopes wasn’t very appealing) and other scheduled daily free activities onsite that would be ideal. For example, a dog friendly stargazing walk at night would be nice if it were included in the $35 daily resort fee vs. having to pay for that as a separate excursion. Game rooms that were perhaps indoor and outdoor with a bar would be a nice touch as well. Those are just some ideas, but it just felt like we ran out of dining and entertainment options with and without our pet that didn’t justify the steep $450+ a night room charge. Read less

NOT WORTH THE COST. Overpriced for what you get. Literally 1 bath towel per adult- which is yours for the entire hotel stay. Good luck getting another towel. Zero pool towels. Not enough wait staff to work the bars and restaurants. Teeny tiny - maybe 15 x 15 adult pool and kids still try to encroach. Significantly overpriced food with little… Read more
