We spent five nights while on vacation. It was our first time visiting Chicago. The hotel is older but spotless and comfortable. The location is excellent, with several attractions within walking distance. The highlight of our stay was the staff. Everyone we met, from the front doors to the front desk, the restaurant staff, the housekeeping staff, and the managers was friendly and helpful. We appreciated Benjamin at the front. He always had a smile and a good recommendation. He was there to save the day when I had an issue with my powerchair. The only drawback is that the beds are high, which made transferring from my wheelchair difficult. We were able to get a rollaway bed. Read less

The experience was amazing. I had a great time in Chicago and at The Fairmont. The spa was amazing, and I highly recommend that one should try it out. The valet was very helpful and they were very efficient with getting the car once I ordered it.

The front desk is always short-staffed. No dedicated line for Accor members. Tried to call housekeeping an in-room service but no answer. Asked the front desk on a rainy day for an umbrella but they were out. Benjamin at the door was so sweet though.

Spent three days and two nights at the Fairmont in a Gold Room. Would definitely come back for the Gold Room experience + Gold Lounge. Two minor issues: The check in wasn’t on the 15th floor for Gold rooms as I was told when I arrived so I ended up going up there only to be told to come back down to the lobby/reception due to lack of staff. Also there was a pizza box w food in it left from the previous guest in the room fridge when I arrived aka not cleaned out by the cleaning crew. Both things were handled expertly by the chief concierge Tim who gave my drinks vouchers to the lobby bar because of the check-in confusion and a 50 dollars voucher for drinks in the Gold Lounge because of the food left in my room. I would still come back to the hotel in the future - 4 out of 5 stars this time! Very conveniently located right by Millennium Park, Cloud Gate, 10 min walk from the Art Institute, very close to the water, Navy Pier, the Magnificent mile etc. Also: The Gold Lounge was a wonderful place to start and end your day. Great breakfast, lovely evening setup w snacks and warm dishes and dessert at the end of the day! Read less
