The hotel

There are few better properties from where to enjoy the sights of Chicago and if you're hoping to shop 'til you drop or check out Lake Michigan's beaches, the Intercontinental allows you to do so in style. Thanks to a fabulous location right in the heart of Chicago's Magnificent Mile, take a visit to the Navy Pier, John Hancock Tower and the Shedd Aquarium which are all within walking distance from your front door. A quick explore of the hotel uncovers a couple of restaurants for all-day dining and there's no better place to enjoy a succulent piece of prime beef other than Michael Jordan's Steakhouse. More sustenance can be found in the ENO bar which has a plentiful selection of wines and cheese, although the Michael Jordan bar is always popular around nightcap time. Finally, if you're thinking up excuses to have a cheeky massage in the Windy City then the Intercontinental's spa* will no doubt be able to twist your arm although, a dip in the indoor pool or a few moments in the sauna also offer equally relaxing alternatives.

Good location, well situated for walking distance to many major tourist spots. You can get to Navy Pier or Millennium Park easily, about 20 mins walk each.. One odd thing in our room was that there was a leftover tourist map on the TV stand, and the ironing board was out. No big deal, but noticeable. Staff was helpful and courteous. We opted not to include breakfast in the room rate, as we felt it was expensive. There are plenty of places nearby for less. We will be returning to Chicago for family reasons and will probably stay here again. Read less

Great staff. Great restaurant. We can French Onion Soup and a Burger plate and both were fantastic! Great service. Hotel was clean. Room was extremely clean. I’m very picky and linens were nice and crisp. We were in the newer renovation tower on the 21st floor. We had the corner suite City View. We had an amazing view. Only thing I can say… Read more

Only thing I can say is the rump seemed a ‘tad bit’ musty but I think it was the air conditioner. We loved the adjacent Starbucks. Also, Will the Doorman IS AMAZING AND AN ICON. Lovely hotel on the Magnificent Mile, in the heart of this beautiful city. The location is perfect and within walking distance of local attractions such as the Navy Pier, shops and the Chicago River. We had a lovely breakfast with lots of choice. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Chicago.

Wonderful stay at the Intercontinental. Perfect location, attentive staff, comfortable rooms and excellent amenities - the pool, workout room and spa were all great. Staff went above a beyond. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else on the Magnificent Mile. We will definitely be back!
