The hotel

Whether you're in the Big Easy for the music, the shops or just to get a taste of the Deep South, Aloft New Orleans Downtown is on hand to give you a great base. As you'd expect from a hotel that's got its finger firmly on the fast-paced pulse, you'll find fitness facilities, super speedy WiFi and even a grab 'n' go snack counter available around the clock, as well as a rooftop pool open morning, noon and night. The W XYZ bar offers the very best in classic and contemporary tunes as well as live acoustic sets, cocktails and draft beers, meaning you don't have to roam too far to have fun although, with Bourbon Street and the French Quarter nearby it would be rude not to spend at least one night on the tiles. Thanks to plush platform signature beds in your comfy guest room you'll have every opportunity to kick back and relax after a good day's sightseeing or naughty night out, and if you're looking for that extra touch of magic to compliment your stay in the South then Aloft certainly fits the bill.

They said it would only be a few min until the other was ready so we all went into the 1 room that was ready to hangout before we were going out for the night. We were hoping to rest and recharge before a night out but couldn’t bc there was 8 girls in the 1 room. A few minutes turned into 2 hours until the second room was finally available. Very poor management on their part. And they were not apologetic. Only comped us $50. Besides that, the hotel was okay. We had a cool city view from our room Read less

Quite unsatisfactory experience. Upon arrival, I was assigned a room with NO windows. I've never seen this before. Moreover, the lightning in the room was totally unsuficient: I could hardly distinguish the colors of my suits. I never got an offer to change to a "normal" room, with windows. Upon my check-out, I asked for a taxi to the airport.… Read more

Moreover, the lightning in the room was totally unsuficient: I could hardly distinguish the colors of my suits. I never got an offer to change to a "normal" room, with windows. Upon my check-out, I asked for a taxi to the airport. The car that was called from the reception was not a taxi, and it drove me and another party of two in the same trip. The "funny" thing was that we were charged independently as if we were by ourselves. Moreover, we could not get a receipt from the driver. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Far Below Marriott Standards; Lights, Elevators, and More Do Not Work

On arrival the light in the bathroom does not work, the safe does not work, the ice machine on our floor, and the floor below, does not work, the phone handset does not work. Only one of three elevators works. An "engineer" brings a ladder and tightens the bulb, which works for about a day until it stops working again. (A couple of days after… Read more
On arrival the light in the bathroom does not work, the safe does not work, the ice machine on our floor, and the floor below, does not work, the phone handset does not work. Only one of three elevators works. An "engineer" brings a ladder and tightens the bulb, which works for about a day until it stops working again. (A couple of days after arrival a second elevator does start working.) The ice machine never works, meaning that I take the slow and usually crowded elevator to the working ice machine two floors up. (But this does stimulate the camaraderie among elevator companions that comes from shared suffering.) Some of these problems are rumored to be due to a hotel-wide electricity outage a week or two back. The maids randomly service the rooms, meaning for instance that with three of us in the room, they leave two water cups, and though all the creamer is used the previous day, no new creamer is left. The staff, though usually polite, seem to lack the knowledge, motivation, or authority to effectively solve most of the continuing problems. The location is not bad and the price is decent, but this Aloft hotel is very far below the standards expected from a Marriott branded hotel. Read less

Super convenient location for the French quarter without the noise! We were on the 16th floor. Beds and pillows were pretty good too. Only thing is the pool was out of order due to the pump having electoral issue but not the end of the world. Read less

Perfect location, comfortable spacious room and a very comfortable bed. All staff that I encountered were friendly & helpful.
