The hotel

Enjoy Louisiana hospitality at its finest at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans French Quarter, a hotel located right in the beating heart of New Orleans. Guest rooms ensure a comfortable base from which to explore the myriad delights this city has to offer, and there’s a state-of-the-art gym as well as an outdoor swimming pool, perfect for cooling off in if you’re visiting in warm weather. The real jewel in the crown at this hotel though is Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House and Beyond. You’ve plenty of wonderful restaurants in the nearby vicinity but Dickie’s is not to be missed. Enjoy a rich array of tantalising Creole specialities, including freshly caught seafood, BBQ shrimp, thick steaks and decadent deserts. And rest assured, if it’s not in season, it’s not on the menu! Oysters are a house speciality, order a dozen at the bar whilst listening to the City’s best shuckers. It’s also a grand spot for a bit of ‘people watching’ with picture windows overlooking the action of Bourbon Street – fun you won’t be able to resist joining in with once dinner’s finished!

I absolutely loved this hotel. It's in the most perfect location. Surrounded by all the food and literally steps away from bourbon. ( 8steps from the door to be exact). 2nd floor has a wrap around balcony for your smoking usage or even if u just wanted to see and hear some of the action. Do it all from there. The staff is super sweet, nice,… Read more

I observed that they were quick to solve any concerns I heard at the desk. The hotel is located at a prime location and was comfortable enough to stay in. We had a room on the top floor, but it was just a typical no-frills room. The bed was comfortable, though the sheet + blanket + duvet combo was paper thin. I would have likely slept better had they left a comforter or a more formidable blanket in the closet for as an option for us cozier sleepers. Overall, we had a nice stay here for 7 nights. I’m not sure there was anything unusually special about this hotel that would make a return stay irresistible, but it was good enough and the location is perfect for people seeking proximity to Bourbon street attractions while staying on Canal. First off, the staff was great, so this review is not about them Other than that. the only other thing great about this hotel is the location. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. I came here in 2017 and I thought this was a really nice hotel. it was by all means beautiful on top of the location. Fast forward to June 2024 and I was appaled at how run down this place has gone. I don't blame the staff, I blame IHG as the upgrades needed here would require corporate intervention. ROACHES - in the middle of my second night, I woke to see a roach crawling down the tv. I had case of waters on the floor, and when I moved them I saw another one. a few minutes later, I saw another two roaches on the connecting door. one of them crawled under the door to the other room. its possible the people in the room next door brought it but I don't care. I was so mad and frustrated because I really didn't have many options of moving to another hotel. I immediately went downstairs and reported. The staff was patient and agreed to move me to another room. They let me inspect a few rooms before choosing which one I wanted to stay. I chose a room with no connecting door . Still I went to CVS to get bug spray since I had to stay in another room. I sprayed it down before moving in and before I moved my things to the new room, I inspected all of them to make sure nothing had crawled in my bags. When I checked in and I got to my floor, as soon as I got off of the elevator the smell hit me like a ton of bricks. the smell was a combination of mold and urine. The hallway carpets were disgustingly stained. A shampoo cleaning would not help. the carpets in this hotel need to be taken out and replaced with new carpet. the staff was nice and very helpful. they spoke to me about getting around in New Orleans and the best places to go to get a good best for my bucks. One person I spoke to agreed about how the hotel has gone downhill. They also pointed out they have been significantly understaffed for a very long time. IHG get it together. I am a member and I am disappointed I had to give such a low grade. Read less

ROOM was serviceable: comfortable bed, quiet, and everything worked…sort of. ROOM was serviceable: comfortable bed, quiet, and everything worked…sort of. The toilet flusher handle needed to be manually levered back up every time, the body wash dispenser also didn’t work correctly, and there was only one trash bin, instead of for both bedroom and bathroom. The furnishings are quite worn, fixtures are old and beginning to fail, and the tub floor is very slippery. Everything seemed quite old and used. SERVICE: front desk personnel were cold and uninviting, hardly made eye contact. I got the feeling staff were not happy working there. Though I was told engineering would come up to look at the toilet, that didn’t happen. The hotel was hosting the event I was attending. The best thing about it was the balcony overlooking Bourbon St, which was spectacular at night. However, walking out the front door, you might witness fights that seemed to happen everyday on that stretch of Canal! I don’t think I’d stay here again. Read less
