The hotel

Enjoy Louisiana hospitality at its finest at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans French Quarter, a hotel located right in the beating heart of New Orleans. Guest rooms ensure a comfortable base from which to explore the myriad delights this city has to offer, and there’s a state-of-the-art gym as well as an outdoor swimming pool, perfect for cooling off in if you’re visiting in warm weather. The real jewel in the crown at this hotel though is Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House and Beyond. You’ve plenty of wonderful restaurants in the nearby vicinity but Dickie’s is not to be missed. Enjoy a rich array of tantalising Creole specialities, including freshly caught seafood, BBQ shrimp, thick steaks and decadent deserts. And rest assured, if it’s not in season, it’s not on the menu! Oysters are a house speciality, order a dozen at the bar whilst listening to the City’s best shuckers. It’s also a grand spot for a bit of ‘people watching’ with picture windows overlooking the action of Bourbon Street – fun you won’t be able to resist joining in with once dinner’s finished!

Rude staff, manager Byron so rude to us after we tried to raise a complaint. They turned the water off the morning of our departure and attempted to kick us out without showering etc or planned to charge us for staying to water was back on (an hour maximum) they lied stating that there were notifications but nil were sent to rooms. Many others also complained. Rooms smell fusty, we managed to moved rooms on our first night at 0100, no assistance was offered with cases. As others have said house keeping is extremely poor! Avoid their restaurant as overpriced, steak tough and blood all over plate. No discount given despite complaint and issues. Poor poor customer service. Read less

Housekeeping did not clean our room, although we left early in morning. We call the front desk twice after getting back to our room but still no one came to clean the room or take the trash. Although a housekeeping was on the floor when we returned to our room at 3pm, she stated she couldn’t clean our room because she was doing check outs only. Then she said she didn’t speak English, in English. Front desk excuse was housekeepers don’t speak English. Only 1 set of towels in the room, although it was booked for two people. Had to beg for extra towels. We ended having to get towels from the front desk ourselves. The air vent was extremely dusty in the bathroom. You can tell it hadn't been wiped down in a long time. Bed linen had holes in it. Telephone was dusty and without labeling. Carpet not vacuumed prior to our arrival. My house isn’t kept like this, sho why would they think it’s ok for customers to pay their money to stay in these conditions! Read less

Love this hotel!! Had couple issues that were quickly resolved. Thanks to Byron and Nira for the best customer service I’ve ever received in New Orleans. I’ve stayed at over 15 hotels around French quarter and this is by far my favorite for location and service.

...and our room was disgusting. As soon as we walked into the room after checking in we were hit with the stench of cigarette smoke. The furniture was beat up and one of the night stands had singe marks that looked as if someone had extinguished cigarettes directly on the surface. Only two of the pillows had actual pillow cases and they had makeup stains. The other two pillows were just worn out pillow protectors that wouldn't close. We attempted to make the front desk aware of the room deficiencies multiple times and the only response we received was "we'll look into it" or "we'll see if housekeeping has any other pillowcases." We never received any sort of follow-up. The final straw as when we woke up after the second night of our stay to find a gross tacky yellow substance between the blanket and top sheet of our blanket. Knowing that our previous reports had fallen upon deaf ears and having no interest in sleeping in that bed for a third night, we packed up our belongings and checked into the Le Meridian on Poydras St. When I told the front desk attendant we were checking out early they didn't bother to ask why or if the room was to our satisfaction, just okay here's your bill (faced down to avoid confrontation over the refund that they would not be issuing). It was clear they are aware of their quality deficiencies and get such reactions from customers all the time. Read less
