The hotel

Built in traditional French Quarter style, complete with gabled windows, French doors and wrought-iron balconies, the fabulous Royal Sonesta occupies a prime spot on Bourbon Street, one of New Orleans most famous locations. We arrived for a sorority convention from July 11th-14th. I have stayed at several Sonesta locations and this is the first Royal Sonesta I've stayed at. This location did not disappoint. My check in and check out was so smooth. April and Emika at the front desk are PHENOMENAL!!! They made sure everything was set up correctly for me and that me and my girls had everything for our room at the beginning and the end. I also loved the energy they exude at the front desk. It's so uplifting and contagious! They deserve a raise and recognition! The food provided by the hotel was also so tasty. The professionalism and hospitality is what I wish to see everyone! No one can do it like this crew at the Royal Sonesta in New Orleans! We will definitely be back again. Thank you all for everything! Read less

The staff was amazing! Everyone was so kind and accommodating. It’s perfectly situated in the heart of the action on Bourbon St., but can choose to be in an interior room and it’s very peaceful. A jazz playhouse, coffee shop, 2 restaurants & a bar all on the property, not to mention the poolside bar. Beautiful lobby and the nicest valet runners… Read more

Made two calls to the front desk to get the room serviced. Housekeeper did not clean the tub or bathroom floor. The carpet was not vacuumed. Soap disk, liquid dispenser and shower tile had mold. Yellow stains and dirt were behind the toilet. Due to an inadequate and unprofessional response from the front desk, I emailed the general manager… Read more

Kid friendly, clean rooms, comfortable bed, staff was very friendly and gave great advice on places to go eat and party. Checking in the hotel took a little longer than usual. But they made up for it with hospitality. Pool hours are 8-8 my kids didn’t like that however they loved The bourbon street experience. I’m sure they will remember this.

Great French Quarter location. It was so refreshing walking into hotel lobby off Boubon street and immediately hearing and seeing beautiful cool refreshing fountain and fresh flowers. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly and helpful.
