Hawaii's first and only craft hotel - from the Hawaiian art that adorns the walls, curated by local artists, to the locally brewed beer and handmade dishes from fresh, local ingredients. You really will get a true taste of Waikiki staying here! There's even an art gallery come coffee shop within the hotel. Located on the bustling street that is Kalakaua Avenue, you've got shops, restaurants and bars surrounding you. Connected to a shopping centre, you can be in Macy's at the drop of a hat, that's if you can tear yourself away from the pool's swimming pool and hot tub! But of course when you think of Hawaii, you also think of the ocean, and you're only a block away from the waves of Waikiki Beach too. Back to the locally brewed beer, Maui Brewing Co. is the island's largest bar, and will keep you entertained with daily live music, a whole host of craft beers, ales and lagers, and of course some delicious handmade food to accompany them.

We stayed for 5 nights in room 603. Overall, it was an entirely okay hotel, without any pleasant surprises or big drawbacks. Here are the positives and negatives from our stay:
Positives:
+ : The location makes for very easy walking to restaurants and shops. Especially nice to be super close to Target if you forgot some little something.
+ : The balcony was reasonably spacious, though it looked out over a bunch of other building roofs. But it was convenient to let our scuba gear dry off.
+: Overall, the staff was very pleasant. But a line formed for the one clerk available at the 11am checkout time, which seemed like the hotel should have staffed up for better.
Neutrals:
~: The valet parking is super convenient. But also super expensive at about $50 per night. Most of the attendants were really quick about getting the car.
~: The gym/fitness center was fine. 2 treadmills, 2 peloton bikes, 1 elliptical, 1 rower. Lots of free weights and machines. But also a very small space, so it felt crowded with just 1-2 additional guests using the gym.
~: The room’s bathroom was fine. There was only a passive vent fan, rather than one you could switch on to pull the air out. It was nice that the sink was separated from the toilet/shower room, and there was plenty of counter space.
Negatives:
-: There was a large tear in the wallpaper in the hallway, which persisted throughout our 5 night stay. It made the space seem shabby.
-: The air conditioning wasn’t reliable. It would turn off or reset the temperature during the night, and definitely wasn’t hitting the temperature it said it was.

Unforgettable Hawaii vacation
Nov 19, 2024659haruth
I stayed here between November 14 till 18.
Service was great. It is a family friendly hotel. Rooms were very clean and food at the cafe was very tasty. My son loved their flatbread pizzas.
I would like to especially thank Anna for great service and Florencia. They helped me locate my missing keys

We had the most wonderful experience when dealing with Kristina. She is the friendliest most helpful individual I have had the opportunity to deal with in a very long time. She makes sure that we have everything we need to make our stay at the Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel the best experience possible.

Great hotel, close to everything. Really enjoyed the sea view. Every morning I went downstairs to grab coffee and breakfast then came back to my room and enjoyed my breakfast at the balcony. It was the perfect way to start my day. The location was perfect, close to everything, plus the beach is just across the street.
