After visiting the cosmo multiple times I finally had the chance to stay here with family after the 4th of July holiday. I think many of the complaints in other reviews stem from the sheer size of this hotel. It’s just so massive and so frequently visited that perhaps staff are just overwhelmed. That said expect long waits for check in and any requests for extra towels, housekeeping, etc. are likely to go unanswered. Pros The highlights here are the central location, spacious rooms (most with amazing views), and fantastic restaurants and speakeasy bars like ski chalet and ghost donkey. We were lucky and got a 36th floor room overlooking the Bellagio fountains. And summer prices are cheaper than peak season. More cons Walking from the room to the parking structure took at least 15 minutes each way. The pool offered zero shade. [see photo] Tip - now that cosmo is part of the MGM group you can visit all the partner hotels with your room key to access free parking and pools. I would stay again if it were as good a deal as I got on a third party travel site but otherwise I may just visit the bars and restaurants. Read less

She couldnt have cared less about our issues and just tried to fob us off. Finally she offered to give us another room later today. WE heard nothing. This place is a joke dont waste your time coming here there are plenty more hotels on the strip. This was supposed to be the conclusion to a long trip away from home and wanted to spoil ourselves now its just going to be a bad memory. Read less

My Husband and I stayed at the Cosmopolitan for 4 nights and asked for a view of the Bellagio fountains as it was a 20th wedding anniversary gift and we were renewing our vows during our trip. We also planned to meet some family who flew in the day before. Upon arrival at the check in, it was 4 rows deep (granted it was Sunday during the long weekend) so we waited patiently to check in. When we got to an agent, I asked if she had a note regarding my request for a fountain view room but she said it would be considered an upgrade of $50/ night when I reiterated that it was our anniversary and we had made the request previously, she said she could do it for $30 / night which I accepted. She then said the room was not quite ready but she would try to put a rush on it . We accepted this and spent two hours in the casino with our luggage (I had the passports in the case and didn’t want to leave the luggage at the bell desk in case someone mistakenly took m6 black suitcases (why were m6 passports in the case, we flew in the night before and stayed at the Fontainebleau Hotel overnight) I then went back to the check in desk and was told to wait in line again (two people in front of me with same issue) got to the agent who informed me a room wasn’t assigned yet but did, at that point, give us a room and keys) fast forward to my friends arrival the following day and she was upgraded to a room with a fountain view for free. Again, this was Monday so quieter so good for her but the reason I am writing this review relates mostly to my experience upon check out today. I waited in line to get my receipt at 05.30 and there were two agents typing; I went up to one of them and asked if I gave her my room number she could simply provide the total charges to my card but she said she was busy and sent be back to wait even after I explained that I had to get to the airport soon. After about 5 minutes I went back to her again as she wasn’t helping another guest and asked again but she again refused to help. I left and said thanks for not helping when there was nooone else waiting in line. I had to call the hotel this evening to advise that I still hadn’t received my statement of charges and the agent on the line had the email copy to me in less than a minute. Lovely hotel, rooms spotless clean but pack some patience. I also won a small jackpot on the last night on a slot machine so there are some positives to share. Read less

We've stayed at the Cosmopolitan for years. Likely at least ten times. I've been a Platinum member in the past and loved the centralized location. However, it's clear to me the transfer to MGM has ruined the property. We checked in on a Friday and were taken aback by the sewer smell in our room. We attempted to move to a different room but were told they were "full." We attempted to get the problem resolved for three consecutive days but maintenance never came. We ended up using the elevator to go to the lobby whenever we needed to use the bathroom. When I finally had enough, I was told we could move rooms or get a free two-night stay. They were going to call me back to ask which I'd like but never did until 7PM on our last night....far too late to change rooms. Upon check-out, I was told a representative would contact me in regards to giving me two free nights and they never did. In short, they kicked the can down the road and I'm sure the next people to check in dealt with the same problem. It's truly sad to see this happen to one of our favorite places. However, the staff members are frustrated and even ENCOURAGED me to write a poor review. What does that say about the state of affairs at the Cosmo? Don't ignore the negative reviews, folks. They're real. Read less
