The hotel

Elegant New England furnishings you’ll long to replicate back home. Kimpton Taconic Hotel gives the authentic Vermont experience. And its location throws you in the deep end too – right on Main Street in one of the state’s most historic and most charming villages, it’s got all those famous Taconic and Green Mountain moments in virtual touching distance, from leaf peeping, to skiing, to summer festivals. Creating a more homely hideaway than most hotels, they’ve included full American breakfasts, morning tea and coffee in the Living Room, and a social hour every evening. Although you also get perks you won’t find at home – like a heated outdoor pool and the exceptional farm-to-fork fare of The Copper Grouse tavern.

The room was adequate in size and had a Mountain View. this property with its proximity to ski resorts and foliage must be quite the place in the fall in the winter. The on-site restaurant is so good that we took in three meals there and each one was better than the next fantastic food. The chef is both creative specific. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Once again you can’t go wrong and a Kimpton/IHG parking was plentiful on site close to the hotel being that it’s not an urban location that’s to be expected, if you can do not miss this one Read less

Beautiful boutique hotel close to shopping, fly fishing, golf, and many varied wonderful restaurants. Front desk staff was friendly, helpful and represented Kimpton very well. We had a credit card compromised and the card issuer was giving me a lot of problems with replacement. The ladies at the front desk and Lucrecia patiently helped me while I was trying to deal with incorrect information from my card issuer. They went above and beyond every expectation and made my annoyance with the card issuer easier to handle. A large well appointed room with a comfy bed and every amenity I could want. Side lawn with the beautiful pool and a few lawn games was enjoyable. Large porch with rockers was so relaxing! Social hour was a great time to meet and mingle with fellow travellers. Definitely try the Copper Grouse restaurant at the hotel and the nearby Silver Fork restaurant. Mulligans pub across the road is fun and definitely worth the visit. Don't miss the Orvis flagship store and outlet just down the street. Lots of walkability here. Read less

I specifically requested not to have a handicap accessible room. when I checked in, they gave me the keys to a cottage. When I enter the cottage, it was a handicap accessible room. All of the furniture was low to the ground. The bathroom was all handicap accessible. The shower had a drop down stool. The shower was also wheelchair accessible.. I returned to the front desk. She said that’s all she has. I explained. I just flew into Boston and drove three hours to this hotel. And she said I’m so sorry there’s nothing else. I asked for my deposit back as well as to cancel the reservation. She supposedly did that. I’m waiting for the credit to come back onto my credit card. On a sidenote. This area is absolutely beautiful. And the hotel has zero amenities and grounds. Read less

I called Back and spoke with Luke who was the manager of house cleaning. He also was very sweet and sent out my cooler right away . The same day I called.
