The hotel

There’s more than a ‘nod to nature’ at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge – it’s eco-friendly to its very core, from your room’s organic bedding to the nature-inspired children’s activities, daily Lobby Farmstand, use of reclaimed barn wood, and local artisanal products at the picnic-style restaurant. Style doesn’t suffer for sustainability, with features like corrugated leather headboards, gritty blackened steel, crate-style slatted closets, and a pop-up beer garden all giving the hotel a cool and contemporary edge. And they haven’t sacrificed those urban hotel essentials either, so you get complimentary WiFi, the Bamford Haybarn Spa, and a free shuttle into Manhattan (in a Tesla electric vehicle naturally) – although you could just stroll over nearby Brooklyn Bridge instead. But it’s the social buzz and views that make this place special, with the best enjoyed while sipping handcrafted cocktails on the rooftop pool terrace.

A special thank you to Mercedes, AJ, Seri, Ahmed, and Mesenia, who each went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. Their attention to detail, warmth, and professionalism were truly remarkable. The hotel itself is stunning, with high-quality amenities and a serene atmosphere, but it’s the incredible staff that made this experience unforgettable. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone looking for a welcoming and exceptional stay in New York or specifically Brooklyn. The location is also amazing, right on the waterfront with breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and Brooklyn Bridge. It’s conveniently close to Dumbo which has great restaurants, and beautiful parks, making it perfect for exploring the area. Highly recommend!! Read less

I hate writing bad reviews, but worse, I don’t like an expensive bad hotel. Check-in was at 4PM, tough after a red-eye, but not their fault. Doorman never looked up from their phone, didn’t help with luggage, didn’t greet us. Front desk read off a list of amenities, when available, and none of them were available. Doorman never looked up from their phone, didn’t help with luggage, didn’t greet us. Front desk read off a list of amenities, when available, and none of them were available. Coffee shop took 20 min for a cup of coffee. Stayed two nights and never figured out how the lighting worked. Found the robe when I dropped something while packing to leave. (In the bedside table.). View was amazing. Chair in room was probably built by a chiropractor to bring in business. Impossible to get out of without assistance and not comfortable. TV was falling off wall and shower handle came off in your hand. (we put it back for the next guest.) Cleanliness was okay, except for the shower liner. Staff did change it when we asked. There are a lot of hotels in Manhattan that I like a lot more. Read less
